I have only tried FoV at level 54+ as BLU in the Northern region, it is great: extra exp, extra gil, tabs... and have fun fighting mobs that like Demon and Bat Eye.

Hopefully S-E would expand the zones and levels for FoV ^^/

I think FoV was a fantastic addition, and I'm certain they'll expand it and the chest drops. I think they just restricted those to the starting zones initially in case there were serious bugs or they weren't received well.

But yes, tabs ftw, and being able to solo while you're LFP is outstanding. FoV doesn't beat an XP party, but it's pretty close. And yes, Qufim seems to be the new hotspot- seems like the camps by the tower are no longer viable b/c of the sheer number of solo/duo players eatings up the crabs, pugs, gigas, and leeches.

I think I'm high enough level to head to the Beaucedine Glacier, I'm excited about it b/c i'm in farming mode right now saving up for my E-bow, and it would be super sweet to XP on tigers while I farm for fangs.

I was more pissed when I wasted the key it took me hours to drop (and it has taken me hrs with TH1) on an ILLUSION.... then I'd have to ask said thf to help me drop another one with his TH2... sorry I'd rather compete for the coffer and have it guaranteed to really be real.

But if what I encountered was merely a glitch (known issue)... then yes I understand the change to be a good thing.

My case - I had not opened a coffer and my friend that was with me trying for the AF had not either and we spent hours (almost dieing) trying to drop a key in Ifrit's only to have the coffer be an ILLUSION. It was way late so we /fumed and hit the hay. Since I had overheard others on LS 'bout this I didn't get GM involved as I thought it was just the "norm" now... but I wonder now if those LS'ers were chest farmers bitchin'.

Maybe they need to make opening one with an actual "key" 100% guaranteed and opening with "picklocks" to have that ILLUSIONary chance... maybe that's what they intend but it's still has "known issues"

Great idea about using the Repatriation outside the starter cities as a means to get around faster. I just might set my HP in Sandy, that city's the most time-consuming to get to for me.

I agree. FoV is making some zones overcrowded. Buburimu and Qufim seem to be very popular on Fairy. Competition for mobs is quite fierce on Qufim in particular. I've taken my DNC from 27 to 32 mostly soloing/duoing FoV, and looking back, there were a few times I probably could have gotten a better exp/hour ratio by spending tabs on support, but leaving the FoV area to exp on mobs that weren't being camped by 66 (the population on Qufim last night at midnight PST) other players.

Nice! I'll be heading to Beaucedine as soon as I ding 35 DNC, and I totally hadn't thought of the farming aspect of it. I hope it's not a crowded zone too.

Also, /wave at Elwynn! I've noticed you in campaign on Fairy. I think you've cured me more than once. ^^'

Finally got to play around with FoV a bit this weekend. I'm pretty pleased with it overall and soloed my DNC to 45 through it. Decent bit of gil. I like how they shoehorn you to certain mob families, which actually dovetails some decent farming into it.

I made some decent extra gil on Black Tiger Fangs and Hides in Beaucidine Glacier and was surprised how much competition for mobs there actually was out there.

Seems like a hit with players.

In the December update, S-E added Field Manuals to the game, one at each outpost, with the exception of the starter area manuals which are located right outside the city. It wouldn't hurt to do some reading on the matter.

Incidentally, you lose the regen/refresh buffs if you zone ... I'm not sure about reraise.

Are you sure about regen/refresh? I've zoned back and forth to my MH while using FoV on my BLM in Buburimu, and ducked into Mhaura to zone away from danger, and I never noticed my refresh going away. I'll have to pay attention next time.

But the Reraise is ordinary except for the extra duration. It only goes away when you change jobs or go into a level restriction.

Well, my PT certainly lost refresh when zoning from Qufim to Lower Delkfutt ... unless there's something odd about that zone, I'm sure. I was pulling on DRK at the time, so I sort of missed that refresh...

Regen and refresh is removed when level sync is applied. A party zoning with level sync on will get their buffs removed as it counts, as you have turned level sync on and off.

Nah man, zoning doesnt remove your buffs unless you were synced to begin with. I zoned multiple times last nigt (Qufim > Jeuno > Sauro Champaign > Garlaige) and didnt lose my buffs at all. You were prolly synced and when you zoned you lost your buffs
