Yeah, especially with Utsusemi: Ni being 430k on my server. =/ Right now my patience is running out because of lack of skilled players to do any Ni BCNM with. TBH, I think Level Sync COMPLETELY screwed a lot of the new people to FFXI in terms of skill. I was partying at 66 the other day with a DRK who had two pieces of AF, and was leveling in Hume RSE. Made me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit. Not like 200k is hard to get for a piece of armor as sexy as a haubergeon. =(

I need Ni, but:

1. I'm not doing it with strangers because friends would just get all three of us to run it and if it dropped, I could lot. And then we'd do the same for anyone else who needed it. I'm not making 15 trips to Jeuno before I get the fucking scroll.

2. My friends who 'needed' it quit, so the above no longer applies.

Now I have to buy it, and making gil is a pain in my fucking ass. I think I ought to start looking at some lower-tier synths I can do for decent profit.

Are you sure Level Sync is to blame? I would blame it on rampant power leveling myself. When you have an almost infinite source of healing (assuming the PL isn't a total idiot, which will probably become the norm once the current generation of noobs reach 75), who needs decent gear?

At least Level Sync makes it easier to identify the PL in a dunes group, that being the anon without the sync icon. Take a stroll through the dunes on your server and see how many parties have an obvious PL. (On the other hand, it makes it harder to see if everybody is in the same linkshell.) I'll bet most of them are actively healing, rather than just being a lifeguard with Raise.

Why are you farming as bst when you could be -ga farming with blm/thf?

Round up all the crawlers and dhalmels, -ga them to death all at once.

Of course, it's kind of rude if other people are farming, but it's too much fun to not try at aleast once xD

I honestly dont remember where on this forum I read it but I remember someone saying that if your NPC/Pet/summon gets the killing blow it will reduce your drop rate.

It doesn't, or at least it never affected mine. I farm on SMN/THF all the time. Sometimes you are swimming in drops, and sometimes you get nothing for hours. The random number generator is streaky like that.

I decided to level Thf/bst as Bst is my main. I'm just targeting mobs that give me exp and nice things to sell.
So far it's been fun and doesnt quite feel like I'm exping or farming, I'm having a blast.
