However, these two also require that you have skill to speak of in a craft. Exactly how much I don't know, alas, but... -- Pteryx

Oops, that's right. Wiki has some of these, but not all. As far as what I know:

Crystal Fist I seems to just require that you have skilled a craft at all, not even necessarily the craft you're spouting recipes for; the only char I've had not be able to get this op has never done synthesis.

Iron Anvil II seems to require a decent chunk of skill. Only Kumei and Koren seem to qualify for this, and Koren only qualifies on Woodworking. (edit: Actually not fair to say; Nya doesn't qualify for these op series at all, and Myrna's rank is too low to get the second tier of ops. If I ever get her high enough rank I'll see whether she can do this on Clothcraft.)

Iron Anvil IV seems to require having taken the craft in question beyond 60, I think. Only Kumei qualifies for this, and only on Alchemy; not even Smithing is high enough.

I remember Kumei being able to do Smithing on Crystal Fist III and Iron Anvil III. I want to say she could do Goldsmithing on Crystal Fist III but it's been a long time since I was that rank...

Sadly I'm pretty sure I never tried Smithing on Crystal Fist IV since so few of the recipes are posted to the wiki and I've started to get paranoid about lookup time. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime when I'm not actively trying to get a sub leveled. I note the wiki says you need 61+ skill for this, though.

Re: At what level does Campaign become an option?

Short reply as it's from bed from my ipone LOL.

So I'm kinda stuck on the old ffxi I suppose where quests don't return so for completion. So do I have this understood right? You can start doing these quests in the past that are kinda like the original starting nations missions except that they give so and allied notes? I am also guessing they are repeatabe.

Just as of lately I've felt more like soloing then partying ya know. I'll take half the so to avoid getting a party together.

Anyhow I am definatly interested in hearing what all I can do solo in the 40-55 range.

Fog dident work too well for me. I'm too high for the qufim ones unless I sync and the beucadine and xarcabard ones are insanely too hard. I got 3 hit killed by an ep blm eye mob. Numerious times. Those bat eyes are way too OP IMHO.

I've been jumping around between my drg, nin, and pup all 42-44. Kinda trying to decide which I will take to 75. And to which got 3 shotted by the eye I think it was the nin but all 3 got trashed by the eyes like a bad habbit.

Thanks for all the help and advice so far, and I look forward to reading more.

        Thanks

Through the grammar and spelling, I take it you weren't subbing Dancer to any of those jobs (or White Mage in the case of Dragoon), correct? Many jobs can solo the mobs in question when it comes to Fields of Valor, provided they gear appropriately. At 47, I took my SAM/DNC and my Soothing Healer NPC and proceeded to trash (Tough) Demons, Gigas, and Evil Eyes in Xarcabard for a good clip of XP (made the entire level; sitting at 48 SAM now) and a chunck of spare change, all the while leveling my NPC, upgrading his armor, and getting skill ups. Needless to say, Xarc FoV is my new playground for a while.

And I'm still a no go on Gothic Gauntlets there...

Re: At what level does Campaign become an option?

I took my ~55 Ranger to Campaign, and I got about 150 xp per battle.

I came back at 60 and I got about 300 xp per battle. So far, I can still solo faster than this (Which is what I went out and did.) I plan to come back at 65 and try again.

50 is too low for melees. I'm guessing mid to late 60's would be best. Any sooner, and you're kinda wasting your time, imo.
