For along time now, ever since I hit ~73 on my Bard, I have had a constant line in my search message: {Caedarva Mire}{No thanks.}
Going through it on Bard, or any mages really, takes a lot out of you. This is different than on most melee jobs, where (with the exception of the tank and maybe one or two others) Amnesia and Silence are no big deal.
So, with that in mind, I am currently leveling pup, very slowly, which honestly I don't mind. It gives me time to do a little [lot of] crafting, sell said craft items, and do other "me time" things, include be away from my computer for appalling periods of time. Not a glamorous life by any means, but I make due.
I recently hit 71 in a very nice level cap party in Wajaom who got to see... maybe not the true power of a pup, but they were able to see a very good side of it. My puppet was occasionally tearing hate off the PLD tank with the Ranger frame and Daze.
Anyway, I started seeking again today, with my usual /seacom message (it's not the only thing in there, but you can't help but see that it's there), and I got a tell asking if I wanted a 72 cap in... Caedarva. Not the first time I've gotten the request, so I answer with my normal "{/seacom} {Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.}". But, for some reason, this made me think if I have the right attitude toward this zone. As a pup, I rely on my puppet. My puppet, in turn, relies to a large degree on my maneuvers which, consequently, are blocked by Amnesia. True, I can stand back with the mages and let my pup do everything, which is likely what a party would want anyway since my skills and damage are so low. But there's nothing for me to do back there. A maneuver every 10 seconds 3 times, wait 30 seconds, repeat. Most RDMs or healers can handle that zone without any help. And, beyond that, if I use the Ranger puppet, I'd need to run in at the beginning of every battle so it can melee between ranged attacks anyway. I have an Ecphoria ring, for the Acc+, but I don't want to rely on that.
So, as the thread title states... am I wrong to completly deny going to a zone because of this?
