Re: Genuinly considering buying ffxi but worried 15 days is long enough
I very much agree with this-
While I think FFXI is a fantastic game and overall a lot more fun than other MMORPGs I've experienced, it is extremely biased towards the end-game, which makes it difficult to keep new players, and in a lot of cases to even get players interested to begin with.
That said, chances are in your favor that you will find a decent group of people to XP/friend with, or a good linkshell, and you'll have a blast. If you're into MMORPGs b/c of the RPG factor, then you'll be pleased to know that there are too many quests and missions to count, and outstanding storyline (at least so far, for me).
I've heard this a few different times from people that have driven all of the popular MMORPGs out there, that FFXI is the game for the veteran MMORPG player. It can be rather dificult(which I like a lot), but I think overall it is well balanced, the community is great (there are always people looking to help out), and it seems like once you reach the end-game, the possibilities just become endless.
