  • Better hands for BLM?

For nuking what would be better Goliard Cuffs, Yigit Gages, or Vicious Mufflers? I already have VM, they looked better for non HNM's than Yigit, but Goliard's isn't looking bad either... the sky ones with +5 MAB and +50 mp would be ideal, but... I'm just getting my nyzul want list in order and i cant decide if i want goliard cuffs, or denali cuffs for another job...

It's dependant on your other gear and what you're fighting for the most part. In terms of most solid all-around I'd probably have to say Yigit Gages. They are going to do slightly more damage than the Goliards, see a negligeable difference in resists, and the INT on them also helps for elemental debuffs. Should you get the full Yigit set you can store it when not on BLM, which you cannot do with the Goliard set as of now.

VM/Zenith will see the most damage if using Elemental Seal or nuking something very unlikely to resist. The HP=>MP part of the Zenith Mitts really only matters when resting to full or trying to do a Sorcerer's Ring latent setup.

I personally would aim for Yigit Gages and AF+1 gloves as BLM, the two of those should set you for pretty much every situation.

Wizard's Gloves, wizard's gloves, wizard's gloves. If you never use those, take them out of storage and use them full time.

If you don't have Zenith or Vicious Mufflers, stick with wizard's gloves. Otherwise, Zenith or VM for the MaB.

If you have both, use the ideal gloves, depending on what you're fighting.

Depends on what you're fighting. For most stuff like meriting or Dynamis, you'll probably stick with VM/Zenith. For some heavily resistant mobs like Tiamat, Wizard's Gloves, even better if you HQ them. XD

I carry around 4 hand pieces everywhere I go...
Zenith Mitts... Pretty much full time nuking and Sorc. ring latent
Sorcerer's Gloves... Dark magic and MB
          Wizard's Gloves... High resist mobs
          Oracle's Gloves... Enfeebling and resting

Those will cover all your bases as BLM.

              Re: Better hands for BLM?

I believe you can activate it without having actual yellow HP so long as you use 'Converts ## HP to MP' gear, which doesn't subtract from your effective max HP total the way that "HP-## MP+##' gear does.

Really unless you're investing in a Sorcerer's Ring there's not a reason to drop the 250k~ on Cursed Mitts, in terms of actual effective damage output you won't see more than a few HP's difference between Yigit/Zenith/Vicious/Morrigan's, with Goliard doing another few HPs less than those options. I know you're currently working on Captain, so you should have easy access to Yigit. If you don't currently do Sky, those will do just fine until you either want to do Sky or do the Sorc. Ring deal. If you want to save the mamool points for Pahluwan pants or something then go for Zenith. V. Mufflers are an adequete holdover either way.

This is correct. Convert HP 2 MP gear does not change your base HP and will activate latent while equipped. While wearing Zenith Mitts and using Sorc Ring my HP reads about 79% which is not yellow HP.

Really?! I never knew that. I always thought it was just used to lower your HP then switch it back for something that doesn't give you -HP to put you in yellow.
