Just seems like it'd be a pain to skill up after almost every sync party.

If you're within a couple of levels of your cap, you can probably do without skilling up. If you're taking up a job with a weapon you ALREADY have skill in (DNC/THF for dagger, WAR/BST for axes, SAM/RNG for archery, RNG/THF/COR for marksmanship...) no skillups needed. If you have a higher-level job that can use that weapon type, you can probably skill up enough for a half-dozen levels at a time.

I know JP parties have an annoying habit of not telling you it's a sync party before inviting you which bugs the heck out of me sometimes. The last party I was in as a 68 sync fighting Imps, if I knew I was going to sync down and there was a RDM I would have subbed SNM instead of SCH for extra refresh.
Since there are like 20 macro books, you could just have your spells that you know you'll use set up. Even if you had every spell laid out, you'd still have more than enough room for any equipment swaps or whatever.

Well, in the last month since I've been back, they've had only level 1 beseiged's going for 20 minutes each, maybe once or twice a day (earth day). I mean I guess that's good? But it's not good for trying to skill up...

Yep whenever I'm on, if there is a Beseiged, I'm rather disappointed with it. It used to be something that I looked forward to and now its more like "oh.......Besieged..../shrug".

I find that it's only ever RDMs and other WHMs that want to join skill ups parties when I make them. Not that Robber Crabs aren't hard to solo for a 71WHM or anything, it's just that I like the company and I know plenty of WHMs and RDMs that want skill ups .

You know I genuinely forgot that I could do that, thanks for reminding me.

If the Beastmen have taken the Astral Candy, and the besieged is going on in thier territory, then I have never seen their defense be above a 1.

There are a whole host of reason as to why there might be a low level besieged going on, check Besieged - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki for info as to why.

Re: Should I bother going to quifim?

From my experience for skill-up on my Monk's hand-to-hand skill in Campaign without Allied Tag, hitting the Fortification (the wall) is okay until my Monk reach level 65 (until skill [A+] was capped) ... then I move on to the mobs in Campaign (without Allied Tag) between level 66 ~ 70 (until skill [A+] was capped).

At level 69+, skill-up was rare unless I hit the boss in Campaign... and Monk's 2-hour Job Ability Hundred Fists really helped. At level 70, I was level down 10+ times due to exp. lost in Campagin w/o Tag just to capped the H2H skill. It took me 8 hours... (this is sick.... i know...)

I strongly suggest to use the reduce EXP loss option of Sigil for skill up in Campaign w/o Tag. If your nation controls the zone, get Allied Tag, get the temporary Reraise Scroll, and return the Tag.

At level 71 and 72, I capped the hand-to-hand skill in Besieged. It took me one level 7 Besieged to cap the skill at job level 71, and another level 7 Besieged when my monk is at level 72. Skill up was quick, when the mob can stand still. Hundred Fists + Sushi + Besieged Temporary Item: Revitalizer (reset all JA timer) is godsend XD
