My mnk just hit 73 and I'm looking to get a pair of destroyers. I looked into wiki and alla and it seemed like the best ksnm for me to try was Copycat. However we did 6 runs and wiped on 5 of them >.<

Is there anyone out there that has experience with this ksnm that can help me win? Are there any keys to victory? I'll be the first to admit that my ls has all solid players, but we're fairly inexperienced so any tips will really help. I can tell you what we did and what I think.

The setup was pld/war rdm/blm whm/blm mnk/nin sam/nin and rng/nin. We knew all about the charming, and planned accordingly- sleeping the charmed member and de-equiping weapons and all. The fight didn't seem that hard, but before we knew it 2 or 3 DDs were down and out, and mages were running outta Mp. Theres' two things that I could think of to help us for next time, but any other tips from people who have successfully done this (non-manaburn) would really help me out. One thing I was going to try was replacing the whm, cause 3 of the 5 wipes happened cause the mob stole benediction and we just ran outta gas. The second thing I realized was that we really really needed a stunner for those -aga's because that was burning up our Mp too fast with all the healing.

I was thinking next time to go in with pld/war rdm/drk rdm/whm blm/whm and 2 melee's. That way we'd have 2 healers, 2 stunners, and still 3 DDs.

Can anyone offer me anything to help me succeed? I really want those destroyers!

      Re: Copycat

Well I appreciate your reply and the help, i've watched all the Copycat youtube videos and like i said, we wiped 5 times. The videos make it look so easy, and i don't really get a good sense of what everyone is doing in them. Maybe I just need to watch them more carefully and really pay attention to all the players actions, but i was hoping for some specific "this needs to happen" info. I don't know the other players jobs as well as they do, and therefore don't know what to tell them.

Thanks for the help though... guess I'll watch these a dozen more times and try to decipher them.

Did you click the Copycat Strategies link too? You know this one:

that I posted above. It gives you specific setups for this particular fight.

          Re: Copycat

The KSNM Double Dragonians also drops Destoryers. You might want to try that one. My list trip there we 4/5 on wins and 2/4 on Destoryers.

We followed the net's stragety(sleep bard, zerg war to 30%, sleep war, zerg bard, zerg war) and we died. When we woke the war he did his 2hr and went Super Saigan. War did 3 Body slams in a row (PLD died) then ran around one or two shoting the rest of us. It was like getting hit by a NM in Campaign battle after the first campaign battle adjustment (My BLU was getting hit for 328 and 346 with cocoon and jelly ring).

Our winning stragety was really simple (sleep bard, zerg war, zerg bard, have a dispeller keep a eye out for thornsong). This seemed to be easier because the bard will stop hitting to cast a spell which will give the PLD and WHM in our group time to heal. I realize that body slam can be adsorb by two shadows even though it is an AoE ability.

          Our PT was BLU/NIN (me), PLD/WAR, MNK/???, WHM/BLM, WAR/???, and SAM/???

            Re: Copycat

I did previously read all the strats on wiki and alla, thanks. I was as prepped as I could be prior to going in the very first time, but being naive of the fight I believe the setup just didn't work. We didn't have a stunner and benediction killed us since mages ended up running outta mp, so i know there were things that needed to happen that didn't. I was just looking for any knowledgable advice from people that have a good track record with Copycat that might help me, but was previously unposted on wiki alla or youtube.

As far as D. Drag. goes, I have considered switching over to try that one instead, especially considering our trouble with Copycat - but the thing is, we performed so poorly in Copycat because no one had prior experience with it and we were kind of at a loss for solid strategy, and i figured the same thing would happen in D.D. if i switched over to that and started it with no experience.... At least with CC I've got 4 ls mates who have seen it, are practiced with it, and have a better chance of not paniking and performing better now that they're somewhat familiar with it.

I dont' want to burn thru very many seals since I'm going to want to go after a Black Belt too, so who knows.... If CC goes bad again, maybe I'll switch over to D.D.
