I can only play this game on weekends so that give me what? 5? 6? hours per week to accomplish everything I need to get done so i doubt I'll even be getting close to 66WHM before christmas nevermind farming enough for the gear for the fight.

The gear? Helps. Necessary? Not really. When I did it (before Repose), I had a Noble's, an Earth Staff, and a Tav Taco. And a lot of hi-pots and ethers. And I went 1/1. Had cast Blink only once at the beginning, cast Stoneskin when Flash left me time and basically kited that idiot round in circles, taking advantage of the fact that he has to stop to cast spells.

Otoh, I've been looking at dancer vids on youTube, since that fight's coming up. She? Is. Just. Nasty. It's not a matter of killing her fast; it's a matter of being the last to die, it looks like. Haven't done that fight - I'm not going to try till I'm 69 or 70, but from what I've seen, I'd say white mage is the easier fight by far.

Thanks for the advice everyone. A couple people in my LS actually recommended going the WHM route as well, but as no one I know even knew anything about the DNC fight, I figured I'd get some reactions outside of our little group.

I have a bit to go with WHM before I really need to worry too much about it, but now I know at least that I really really need to work on capping out my magic skill, it's kinda low atm so looks like I got some work ahead of me. Seems like Repose has made this fight a joke, although my ls leader said it was pretty much a joke before (compared to the other fights).

Plus seems like farming the WHM testimony is easier than the DNC one as well, so got that to consider. I still wanna do the DNC fight anyways at some point, but at least now I know where to focus my leveling efforts.
