Do I need to register expansion packs?

Hi,

I am new to the ffxi series. I have just purchased the 2008 edition for the xbox360, which comprises Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess expansion packs.

My question(s) is this: Do I need to register these expansion packs separately? I was only prompted to register the main game when I installed the program. If these packs are already installed, how would I know?

I THINK the 2008 pack consists of registering all of it in one code. Way you can tell is on the title menu, the logos will be lit up (they are shadowey if not installed/registered).

When you say the title menu, is this the screen where you select your character or the screen where you select your game?

Right now I only have the ffxi game and some card game...

On the screen that has the Final Fantasy XI logo along with the logos for the 4 expansion packs, and the menu options with "Select Character" "Delete Character" etc

Actually, this is a better forum than "ask SE". "Ask SE" is for questions that we, as a community, want SE to spend their limited time forming a response to. It's not meant for tech support type of questions. SE doesn't come by and read those questions. The intention was for the admins of DiV to compile a list of worthwhile questions and send them on to SE.

And besides that, it's pretty much defunct. Using the "Ask SE" to create a dialogue between SE and our community here at DiV never really got off the ground.

Ok sorry about that.

I've checked and my expansions are greyed out...?

Is that because I've just started the game or should they be lit up?

I got it, you need to go to Content ID --> Expanded Services and do it there!
