  • Profit from Level Sync stupidity now!

Thinking back on some of the data Armando and I were swapping and looking back on some things that were said, I decided to check the auction house today for key pieces of gear. People really do think they can just cast this stuff off now, which isn't wise, but buy now and benefit from thier lack of research!

    On Odin:

Sniper Rings down to 100k (From 200-250k previously)
Woodsman's down to 50k (from 100-120k previously, yay for my BST)
Hauby down from 300K to 250K.

And so on. Even HQ Noct and Seer's gear was down a lil bit.

Think I'll be farming some before this stuff goes back up so I can optimize my level cap gears.

Oh wow. Selling one of my Woodsmans a couple of months back to fund my Dusk Gear was not such a bad move after all.

Boy those are all excellent pieces of gear at a lot of levels which explained their price. I should hop back on the game and just buy a bunch for the inevitable, oh man I need those still cases followed by a price rebound.

Re: Profit from Level Sync stupidity now!

Only thing I don't like about this update is that it means more expenses for my COR. I won't peel off Steel Bullets before level 66, which means Iron Bullets must be bought. Pre-50 is a little easier on the wallet, just the level 22 bullets at that point, which I can get cheap off NPCs anyway for 8k-ish a stack. So I can stand to go pre-50 a little more.

RNG on the other hand, can get away with a lot more and arrows are generally cheaper than bullets. Any syncing I do from 63+ I can whore Orthenus' Bow.

This update meant great things for regearing my BST, though, Woodsman's x2 and a Hauby for 350k is a steal.

Not only that, 300K would fetch me two snipers and a Scorpion Harness for Kitten. That will be nice for my DNC and THF.

Have you ever thought of making your own arrows/bullets?

Doesn't level sync also sync all your gear, making level cap gear a bit useless?

Nope, much of it is still viable.

Armando and I discussed the information in this thread:

I dunno, I wouldn't call it stupidity. It's definitely a win for the buyer, but the seller could benefit too. Just because such gear is BETTER and still useful doesn't mean that it's bad to get rid of it. How many of us have traded a better, say, hat, for one that fits with the rest of our equipment set, so we can store it in a ticket NPC?

Space is important to some people. Getting rid of their level cap gear is one of the big reasons they've been looking forward to this. Those who have room to spare, or don't mind muling, will benefit from the lower prices.

                  Re Feba: /

Some time back, I actually sold the 3 pieces of Seer's +1 that I had for the full NQ Seer's set so I could store it with the NPC. I think there's one or two other sets I've completed so I could store it. Before the last two Gobbiebag quests were added (and before the Mog Locker), space was very, very, very much a premium, as I'm sure majority of the people reading this will remember. I remember having to use the Delivery Box to store 30-50 items at a time, depending on what I was doing at the time (IE, trying to sell off stuff I had, crafting, leveling a different job). A majority of my mules, even now, have filled storage spaces (though not maxed, mostly because I don't have the room in my MH, or safe, to add stuff), and the safe spots not used for furniture are used for gardening results, and that's normally full (or extremely close) whenever I harvest.

And I do agree with Feba: If my sole intention right now is to level PUP, why should I have to keep gears for all level ranges? So far, since the update, I've been in ~lv14, ~lv20, ~lv25 and ~lv40 parties. Should I have to keep a set for each of these ranges (and one or two others) since I'm not, nor will I probably ever, get an invite to a party around my level?

Though, on the flip side of it, I'm more surprised people aren't collecting the missing pieces where possible to store the armor.

The title of this thread got me to thinking, does level sync affect your drop rates? It could just be me but it always seems like I get more drops when I am fighting easy prey and above or maybe it was that the first few areas you level through have higher rates. Any thoughts in this direction?

What a stupid question. Everything affects your drop rates, so of course level sync affects your drop rates!!! So sync up and let the gil roll in!!!!!

I think a lot of people have just failed to keep up with the storage updates, really, like the upgrades to furniture, events that give free furniture, the storage npcs, gobbie bag quests, mog locker.

People just want storage given to them, SE seems to differ in that opinion and wishes to make the expansion of storage part of the game. People treat that like its a hassle, but then, its also why they don't get missions done, don't get sea access and OP warps done. Such a hassle to go out and experience the content

                        I don't know how you came to that conclusion. You're getting more stuff, more quickly because you're killing easier mobs or soloing. When you do these things, there's generally more drops in it for you, especially soloing given there's no one else to share with >.>;

Well the line of thought I had was the lower the level of mob the less hp it has the faster it falls. Looking back on that last statement though I realize that attack also scales with the level. Maybe it's just me but easy prey in the lower areas seem to die faster than when I get up higher in levels.

If you're talking like single digit and maybe teen levels, then yes. Mob HP scales faster than player HP. So, while you start hitting considerably harder, mobs have a ton more HP to take those hits. When you first start out, though, mobs have about the same HP as you.
