Disconnects/Time out Since 09/08 Update?

I play on Sylph server so I'm not sure if its an issue localized to that server or if its more widespread.

Every since the latest update I keep timing out of FFXI. I can't play because it happens every few minutes. I mostly play late at night, so around Japanese prime time, so not sure if that has anything to do with it. And its not just me. There are at least five other people in my LS who are having the same problem.

The other night the five of us were going through Xarcabard to do L2 for an LS member and we were all lagging out at the same time. Got one of us killed, and the only reason the rest of us weren't killed was because we had enough hp to sit there and take a beating for a while. -,-'

Anyone else having similar issues? Any ideas on a fix? I'll be calling POL customer service later in the day, so if I get any new info, I'll be sure to post it.

I'm on Sylph as well, i havent had this issue at all. I'm currently in Iraq so i play more around jp time then US time but really like right in the middle i guess. I play on PC. Also i have spent most of my time in wotg zones and early low level zones (Ronfaures/La Theine) since this update came out. So might be a zone thing?

When you time out, does it let you right back in? Or does it time out and not able to reconnect for a little while?

Its happened in Xarcabard, near Dem Crag, Altep, Norg. Doesn't seem to happen during the day, mostly after 11pm central time. -,-'

I've been having the same problem. I'll play during the day with no disconnects whatsoever, then boom, around 10pm I keep disconnecting. This has happened around the same time for the last two nights. I've never had this problem before with FFXI. I checked my internet connection at that time - its fine - and couldnt think of an explanation so I came here. I think its strange these problems suddenly occur late at night. I'm on the Phoenix server btw.

This kind of thing happens sometimes for specific servers. Which case they take down the server and do maintenance on it. It's happened quite a few times for Seraph.

The only connection/disconncetion problems I've been having since the update have been trying to access Nyzul Isle.

I had problems on Ifrit for a couple days just after the update, but it seems to have smoothed out now.
