Don't worry, we all feel the same way about that shitty place. You'll get used to its epic suck-ness soon enough, and yet, you'll come back for more because that's just where everyone gets xp at those levels.

I promise it gets better.

I really really do hope it gets better, I spent 4 hours in that place today, came out with 2.5k exp and a huge headache and the items I got wont even cover the travel costs ._. All in all a sucky day for me, and I can never catch Ellipses online :p

Yeah, I don't actually play all that much. I haven't been on at all this week. For the most part, Friday nights (US EST, Saturday morning for you?) are the only time I have set aside for FFXI with any degree of reliability.

Valkurm specifically, and partying in general, is a roller-coaster. You'll get a few crappy parties, then a good one, then a few more crappy ones, etc. With all the XP updates, you at least have the option of dropping out to solo Easy Prey for respectable XP. And you will most likely never earn money in an XP party. It's a cycle in this game: you spend time making money so that you can afford to spend time and money XPing, so that you're high enough to spend money doing quests and missions, rinse and repeat.
