very interesting, however RDM/NIN is still the best long term tank for most endgame things (exception being byakko, and other fast attacking mobs). Most CE/VE spells than anyother jobs.

Interesting to see Blind 2 is 640 VE. and is a fairly short cast (3 seconds before fast casts) and bar spells are 300 VE, to be honest when ever I tank I never thought about a bar spell spam. (0.5 seconds casting, and 6 MP) Interesting to know thanks for this mal.

What I found most interesting of all is that SAM is the only job (err, other than SCH actually...) that has a JA that generates more than 1 CE (Medidate for some reason generates 320.... wtf?)

Sam = exp tank. Duh.

PLD gains hate with Flash, Cures and damage.
WAR tanks by... wait for it... dealing damage.

But hey... NIN/WAR exp tank when Berserk up at all time whenever is available isn't that weak in terms of damage output while tanking... combine with Dual Weird IV at level 65+ .. at later level NIN tank with avoid damage while dealing damage at the same time.

On the other hand, I think WAR tank by trading blows with the mob, at least from low to mid levels.

and retaliation is a huge boost to that. not to mention the old school days of /mnk for counter, dodge, and chakra. WAR's are great tanks, and the reliance people put on /NIN for them really hurts them sometimes.

/MNK isn't so hot since you can barely dodge against ITs, by the time you get Chakra you also get Seigan on /SAM and Counter rate is 10% but can miss. It's the best sub out of the initial six jobs but pretty lackluster otherwise. Just the initial six shadows on /NIN puts Counter to shame.

I wouldn't say WARs are "great tanks," for EXP anyways. They're not bad but PLD or NIN usually gets the job done better. Of course, tanks are pretty scarce so a WAR tank is still much better than nothing.

WAR's also just fine for meripo if mobs are dieing in under 30 seconds, but I still hate how the job lacks any form of damage mitigation. (Defender is a joke)

also /DNC is pretty slick. An additional half voke, Cure Waltz's Turns WAR into a quasi PLD. WAR is a great tank, when someone who knows how to use it as a tank is in control. Trouble is those WAR tanks among us are a nearly extinct breed.

I had done WAR/DNC main tank for 2 parties in Imp camp, tanked Imps, Jnun, a few flies, and died a few times too. Animated Flourish and steps are required (at least for me to hold hate), but it is very MP-expensive to tank as WAR/DNC.

Heck, I think SAM/DNC is more suitable for exp. tanking instead of WAR/DNC.

SAM/DNC can actually heal the party with Soboro, but it means sacrificing your WS.
