Pixies in the Present

    Pixies in the Present

    I don't read the alla forums but my linkshell have been raving about a thread on there so I had to check it out.

    Apparently, people have been seeing Pixies/Sprites in present zones.

    None were able to take screenshots >_>

    However, people have reported that apparently the Pixie .DAT file or whatever it is, isn't just in the WoTG game folder. Also, people are saying SE have hinted past mobs could turn up in the future. Most people's theories are that what you are doing server-wide in the past is affecting the future. (You save a ton of pixies = pixies in the present)

    Only a few servers are reporting sightings as of yet.

    What do you guys think?

    Well, that one guy did... but he could have just switched the .DAT with some Stapling or such.

    But, who knows. It's one of those things you have to see for yourself to believe. People are always willing to take a joke too far.

      Yeah I am rather sceptical.. Although the more I protest to LS members not taking this info with a pinch of a salt the more they tell me how SE hinted it so it must be true!

      Apparenly SE also said that should you kill too many monsters of a type in the past they become extinct in the future. Unfortunately no one can give me a link to where these hints were and I find this one even harder to believe.

        Well there was an interview that was posted that made a comment about something like this happening. I don't know if they have actually implemented it though.

          Well, keep in mind that it was named Pixie as well. Granted, there is a way to change monster names, but few people know of it, and fewer actually do it. Plus he would have to change the name of every sapling in the zone... Which is long, tedious work.

            Saw one outside Bastok a little over a week ago and thought nothing of it, I don't have WotG and don't keep up with FFXI news. I thought it was just something strange added in the time since i'd last played.

            It's the only one i've seen, so I figured it was some quest mob or npc until seeing this thread.

              I've not seen any yet on Remora - but I have heard tell of these things.

              Pixies running around Raising folks would be nice to see outside of the past, I'll tell ya what!

                I've been hearing this a lot around my LS that killing NMs in the present in your allied nation increases morale or something...

                      I have to put this one in the Confirmed catagory. Carbuncle server has Pixies. This is a set of 360 screen shots from my axulillary account folks. No WoTG key entered on the account.

                      Now, here's the bummer. I've got screenshots, but as an brand new user with zero posts, I can't put the link in. Fine piece of anti spam work.

                      These are posted on my picassa account, so we will have to do it like an RMT!

                        You may not have noticed that you necro-posted in a thread almost two years old.

                        They started appearing en-masse with the March update because of magian trial #838. More than once lately, I have seen two in the same zone on wide scan.
