It's sad because as leaders we're coming to accept that even though we have enough people we just can't clear Einherjar because the people we have simply aren't good enough at or don't put enough effort into their jobs.

This is so true in our defunct ls and the one that is currently rebuilding. You get people that just want to cruise along on others hard work. They are usually the ones that are the biggest kiss asses/suck ups and mouthy to boot.

The worst part is that when I finally get fed up and go around telling people that they suck, are retarded, and are entirely the reason why we can't win shit that we should otherwise be able to, everyone acts like I'm the bad guy.

Thats why I always tell the sacs to do something/say something about it RIGHT AWAY. People think "Ya right. Must be having a bad day or something. I've always done it like this and no one's ever said a thing." Better to be firm from the start instead of waiting until things are out of hand. Too bad no one ever takes my advice.

I brought up a point tonight when gathering for Limbus. We had a set start time and the majority of people were there and ready. About 15 mins before start time a straggler logs in and wants to know what job. They are told to come Blu and then they proceed to gear up. Five minutes later the shell holders sister says that her brother is logging in. He logs in, comes to Jeuno, gears up, gets soap, and gathers. But we are still waiting on the Blu. The Blu is actively talking like crazy in ls so they aren't afk. Fifteen minutes go by and now its start time and the Blu is still in Sandy. Half of the ls is in Sea holding the mob and waiting and the other half is waiting to port the Blu. We mention to hurry and the Blu says "Oh I'm writing macros." Now how in the hell can you write macros when you are talking in LS nonstop?? In the end it took her 25 minutes to gear up and get there. When we mentioned something she used her kids as an excuse. (Trust me, she was chattering so much on ls I doubt she was even aware her kids were in the room.) The mob in Sea raged and killed a few people so it made us even later to get in. This kind of crap shouldn't be tolerated. If I were a sac, I would say "Sorry but it's past start time and we are going in now." and leave. Maybe if this were done a few times people would learn to MOVE THEIR ASSES. You need to be firm and teach people lessons.....so yes basically be like a parent. Sad but true.

If it were truly possible to act like a parent, I'd be an abuser in FFXI based on how many ass whoopins I'd need to hand out.

I just really want PLD gear to drop for the fuckers in front of me, honestly, lol.

I've come to the realization that if I get better gear, it'll be harder for me to suck.

But it does work. All you have to do is use a bit of psychology, that most parents do on a daily basis. Want your kid to do something? Make it seem like it will benefit him in some way. When my kids were young and it was summer, I'd use the ice cream truck. "Want ice cream? Well if you can do <insert stuff here> by the time the ice cream man comes we'll get some ice cream!" For the cost of 2 cheap ice creams I'd get stuff done without any whining, worked wonders for my stress level.

But I totally understand your point. LOL It's hard to keep yourself in check with some of the idiots in FFXI. I think people who are in charge of large event ls's are a bit masochistic. LOL

I feel your pain, just not in FFXI, as I havn't been able to get past level 66 due to all of the elitists that seem to run parties nowadays. I can relate to your problem from a WoW standpoint, as I have been waiting for a single piece of my armor set to drop for 4 months now, and when it finally does, a new person in the guild gets it "as a welcoming gift". He also happens to be the brother of the girl that the guild leader is hitting on. Go figure.

our first rdm hat went to a guy who had to retire ~2 weeks later due to school ending and his parents not wanting him to play ffxi
there were some rdms that teamed up to kill some infants and stuff in anger
luckily the guy came back ~1 year later but was no longer in my LS
sucks cause he was an excellent player

He's been screwed 3 times now and he's a career rdm. First time a guy that "collects hats" got it and quit playing rdm and then quit the game shortly thereafter, second time the guy that got it hadn't even been on in months and only got on for Xarc runs and then he quit playing rdm and started up thf as soon as he got it (literally PM'd the sacs after it lotted to him and told them), and finally our ls just went belly up and I'm quite sure there won't be any more Xarc runs ever and he was was next in line. Ya I know, get into another shell....well he won't be next in line then and his reply to that is "I'm too f**king old to wait another 5 f**king years!" LOL

I'm so glad I have zero interest in that Chapeau. <_<;

The only piece left that I want (and only to see how much of a difference they really do) are legs, and then I'll get feet just for the sake of looks. But the hat? Meh, Fast Cast (and the INT) is 99% more useful to me than AutoRefresh and a bit more Enf. skill will ever be.

I just hope PLD AF isn't that hard to get, but at least I'm already 2/5 for my next 75 job (DRK) And BRD set seems pretty meh, specially if you get an Osode.


Edit > PS : Hopefully the increase in drop rates will aliviate these problems.

I'm just riding high on the fact that the only piece of Drg Relic that I wanted has a NM drop that is just as good.

Of course, we'll just see how the other jobs I want to level go :/
