Re: So... who got owned thisweek in Campaign?

So what happens if you lose the town? Can you lose the town? If that's the case, then yeah, defending towns are a smart bet. But if you ever want a moment's breathing room, or as you said, the ability to do quests, you'll want to cut off the attacks to the towns as soon as possible.

Well, as for Bahamut lately, it's been Sandy owning South San d'Oria, Ronfaure and Batallia Downs. Bastok owns Bastok Markets and Rolanberry Fields. Windurst owns... Windurst Waters. That's it.

        Sandy 3, Bastok 2, Windy 1, Beastmen 15.

I mainly do campaign in Ronfaure. I've done at least one in Jugner, Rolanberry and Sauromugue. And as for the person who said they're level 50-ish job can't do Campaign.. You're kinda wrong. My highest job is 52 Samurai and I do Campaign quite well.

San'doria and Bastok are holding their own on Ramuh. Windurst though is a different story.

Pretty much, the only zones not owned by the Beastmen are Southern San d'Oria [S], East Ronfaure[S], Passhow Marshlands [S], Bastok Markets [S], and Windurst Waters [S]. The Beastmen just control everything else.

As for mobs getting stronger, I definitely saw that when I went to do battle in Vunkerl Inlet [S]...

Tell that to the 3 to 4 NPC brigades that hang around in parts of the zone where the beastmen NEVER reach (at least not without help from a kiter or two).

Defending home turf is indeed a high priority. But having four times as much of your army than you really need to defend it only forces you to keep having to defend said home turf. In this situation, the best defense is truly a good offense.

Currently 7/7 for leading NMs to their death in city campaigns due to NPCs hiding in the farthest corners of the town.

It's always fun to watch NMs flail and die as they're ripped limb from limb by a buncha Rdm/nin or Galka Rngs. Only one who ever really put up a fight so far was Shadowhorn who Hundredfist'd half the 3rd legion down to size.

Dispite the RDM AF and dual weild, those "RDMs" are RNGs as well. You'll note that they're not much for sword melee and carrying boomsticks.

Re: So... who got owned thisweek in Campaign?

On further consideration, I don't think the beastmen are truely buffed. After every update, the beastmen moral is high, as is their strength, and we see slightly tougher mobs and alot more attacks. These always last until their moral is run down, when they become weak and the number of attacks, and waves per attack, are reduced. I think what we are seeing here are just beastmen with high moral.

Also, screw city defense, given what I have seen in city sieges, it may be impossible for the beastmen to take a city in one week. Assuming that this is true, the goal should be to retake the regions that were lost to the beastmen. As long as you have one region outside your city under your control, the beastmen won't raze the town.

However, given the way people are playing in Campaign battles, and the reduced number of players and multiple waves of beastmen that attack the forts, it may be impossible to hold a fort for an entire week. Currently, it seems like it is far easier to retake forts than it is to hold them.

Therefore, the best defense would be in focusing your nation's efforts onto retaking one zone per week, and letting it fall into beastmen hands the next, while you focus on taking another zone.

So say for Bastok, they focus on Rolanberry Fields and Grauberg. 1st week, they retake Rolanberry Fields. 2nd week, they let Rolanberry Fields fall to beastmen control, but retake Grauberg. 3rd week, let Grauberg fall to beastmen control but retake Rolanberry Fields.

This way you always have a region under control, which is all that matters in keeping the beastmen out of your towns.

Also, I notice that the Allied NPCs are actually winning alot of their fights in trying to retake the forts. The Allied NPCs might actually be able to retake the forts on their own. Windurst has almost retaken Saratubaruta and is well on the way towards retaking the Fort-whatever area.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.
