A lot of people have been saying that. But this has been the first time we have seen such a turn around in favor of the beastmen across every single server.

Also worth noting, in today's maintenance SE did the following:
    - Corrections were made to the strength of Beastman Confederate forces depending on the status of Campaign battles.

We'll have a better idea by Sunday. Most of the week is left so there should be enough time to see what difference this makes to the campaign standings with the next update.

Make no mistake, the Beastmen were buffed, without a doubt.

Non-NM grunts hit noticeably harder now than before the update, even more with the NMs. Not just strength, but evasion has improved. Pre-update, I had absolutely no problem hitting mobs; post update, same gear, Acc has reduced considerably. Since the update, just about every AoE attack has doubled in lethality,as well.

Ugh fantastic. We still haven't caught up to the previous difficulty and they upped it again?

Re: So... who got owned thisweek in Campaign?

well i can get added to the list of owned in campaign, albeit I did last a little longer than the majority of players and npc's. Just got raped by shadoweye, Unable to stick enfeebs on him anymore resists dispel even. LV 5 petrify is tres lame as it sticks almost entirely regardless to the fact I have resist petrify traits.

On a more happy note, it does encourage greater teamwork, we were able to defend bastok earlier then we all went to N gustaberg and took it back so at least bastok is safe for the time being. Perhaps I shoulda stuck there, instead of defending west sarutabaruta where I recieved my first KO in 5 months. TY SE for making campaign fun again, however id appreciate more exp for my valiant efforts.

edit* Well another first, I have seen my first seige weapon, seing as I am dead I can not check the name however it is a giant machine with a canon, that can retract (possible defensive stance) its pretty intense. I dont think anyone is alive atm the yaguado and shadoweye have it under control, war lynx's as well unsure if they are allies or enemies, all I know is everytime I raise I eat a petrify followed by a quick firega 2

I think we can forget about fortifications as easy lower-level skillup targets, too. It seems that campaign mobs now explicitly link to them, and will attack you if you are engaged to them, even if you don't have tags. And the imps tend to wander far enough from normal mob areas to scout out other fortifications. I don't think Eldieme would be suitable anymore, at the very least. I haven't finished scouting CN or Garlaige yet, three tagless deaths in the process left my WHM51 without a buffer so that's on hold for a while.

Re: So... who got owned thisweek in Campaign?

FYI for those interested, in regards to siege weapons...

War Lynx are spawned from the Yagudo version (a "door" opens in the back, and a War Lynx will run out of it.)

War Smilodon are spawned from the Orc version (same as above).

I have yet to see the Quadav version, but I assume Peistes would be spawned?

The spawned mobs are much easier than the beastmen mobs, but are still worth an effort.

Oh, and I've been in campaign as NIN 66-67 and I was still able to hit mobs decently, with average gear.

Re: So... who got owned thisweek in Campaign?

Ya I havent noticed a change my parse still says I am in the 90-95% range (parse myself for gear checking purposes) Their DEF seems to have been upgraded, of course this could be due to the fact that their medixs are continually buffing them with protect. (i spammed dispel 10 times only t have the healer re apply it before I gave up). The mobs are also more helpful to one another, if one runs by it will add, and so on, I just tanked 4 yaguado bards that seemed to come from the woodwork. I was working 1 and more came eventually I just put on my dmg-% gear popped on an estaff and stood there curing people, untill I ate a Mijin gakure for 4687 O.O from that damn yag nm.

As far as I can tell ATK + DEF have been increased, as well as TP move damage, prior to this update I could eat that Mijin Gakure all day long while people dropped around, this time it one shot me through SS PRO+ Shell 4 DMG-35%, and Magic -10%

Either way I am having fun to be honest i was skeptical at first but the excitment level has increased, acctually having to organzie an offensive and pay attention is awesome, last time I felt this good was when I opened my import ffxi disc and booted it up for the first time. (yay 30 days of trying to read japanese menus ; ; )

Actually I was talking about the First Musketeers, the ones in Crow gear with two swords who cast nin spells. Most of bastok's army is /Rng or /Nin it seems. Offhand the only exception I can think of is the 2nd Scouts who are War/Sch.

Resist Traits reduce the time you're affected by a status, not your ability to avoid it.

That's awesome. Just awesome. The Orcs and Yags get cats from their cannons but the Shellback get freaking Wyverns.

Also, Imps are super stupid easy to kill in Campaign.

the shell backs are still LOL, they don't have the AoE moves that the YAGs and Orcs do. They need all the help they can get, but wyvern is a little much, a frontal silence paralyze every 5 seconds isn't going to be enjoyed much by anybody, nor will dispelling wind I forsee alot more deaths for the people who need buffs to live forever (ie. me) when these things are around.

Well, it's after the tally, and every single zone is held by the Beastmen. I think the mobs were a bit overbuffed...

                              On Odin:

                              Sandoria: 4
                              Bastok: 1
                              Windurst: 2

I still think the mobs are just fine, its the player's strategies that suck. The NMs were ramped up, for certain, but they're not impossible to take down with just a little coordination. When people stop exploiting /BRD and dragging mobs a mile to the side to "solo" them, in addition to taking out Transporter mobs and advacing technology, we might start doing better.

But as long as people keep singing, trying to horde mobs for themselves and just bang on fortifications, we'll keep losing ground.
