  • few questions.

hey. iv been interested in starting up ff11 again. iv been playing lineage 2 for a while now and am a little bored. and no other game intersts me except for aion which wont be out for a while (im not a western mmo fan [hate asian f2p though :]). (i will be starting from new as iv lost my account details)
    1) how many hours a day do i need to play to get into the game
    2) what server is best for eu players
3)how long does it take to find a party in lower levels.
4)i remember when i last played there was a big problem wit everything being over priced by millions of gil ( have they fixed it)
5)what classes are most wanted in parties

    Re: few questions.

    1) a good 2-3 hours to get any decent leveling/quests done at the very least.
    2) not sure, but most servers have an eu population but maybe some of the eu posters can respond to that.
    3) all depends on your job and how many people are playing/seeking. best way to get going is to start your own pts.
    4) prices are at a low right now. even lower than pre-inflation times when the game first started.
    5) tank (pld or nin), brd, rdm, whm, cor. this is only for xp parties. things start to vary once u start doing end game and merits but for sure, brd, rdm, whm and cor will have better chances than melee.

Also, Scholars are very welcomed in PTs and get to enjoy both regular PTs and the manaburn-style PTs at later levels.

thank you, also what payment methods are there for the US version. as it is cheaper than EU. (even though its the same servers...weird)

oh yes, how could i forget sch. I love sch, especially at lower lvl pts. They can do just about anything. heal, nuke, dispel, and they're good at it too!

I think the price has always been the same. 12.99/mo for first char and +1.00 for additional chars. all major credit cards accepted. not sure on the eu side if theres any other cards accepted. again, an eu player might be better suited for that.

It's not. Depending on what job you're playing and when you're logged in, party invites can come relatively quickly in general, but it's still not at all uncommon to have your flag up for very long times without any invites.

                Re: few questions.

Well waiting occurs, but that's all due to the actual fluxuation of people. Best thing to do is ride the party wave along with a group. What I mean by this is once you actually get a party you can ride what I like to call the "Wave". More often than not most of those same individuals will be on at roughly the same time wanting to party again so your chances of getting another party is better.

I find that when you stop for awhile then you have that chance of catching an "off" day for leveling. This can mean you would wait that hoorid 5 hours and get nothing, but it's because anyone at that level has past it or are busy doing something else for whatever reasons. More often they have leveled past it when you skipped days. So my best advice for leveling is to do it in spurts.

1-20 on your first job. Get your sub-jobs then go back to town.
Level 1-20 on another job that you would sub under that first job. This will be easier than the first trip through the dunes since you now will have sub-jobs. Then level that same first job to 40. This makes your subjob reach it's maximum potential and is a decent stopping point. You could technically level to 42 before your sub becomes "gimp".

Then take that job you leveled for a subjob to 37. This "End Games" it. Meaning at 75 it's the highest your sub will be so further leveling of it does nothing unless you want that job higher. Then you are free to level that level 40 job to 75. Granted you will hit roadblocks at 50-55-60-65-70 but that's due to Genkai. This will allow you to level consistently. This is just my advice it's not the only way nor the "right" way. I hope it helped. ^^

Welll...you can wiat for a pretty long time but it doesn't usually get bad untill after lvl 37(max sub job level) and super bad in the 50s. In the 60s is gets slightly better and the 70s...well you slowly start to hit merit parties...

You can probably get your account recovered depending on the amount of time that has passed since you last played. And the 2boxing only works if you have two different accounts. Two characters on the same account can't be 2boxed.

so is it common to double box in ffxi
it seem that most games require you to double box now ( i have 2 with l2 and i had three with eve)

It's common for your PLing and farming and occasionally for double exping, but more often then not it's so that one person can self-PL themselves with another character. I am a 75WHM and my friends that have my account info sometimes use it to log me on and PL themselves when I'm not home. I.e. now lol.
