Do custom UI's exist? I've been seeing a few youtube video's and their chat logs / macro lines are much much smaller than mine. Is there a way to change your resolution or something so your UI reduces in size, or are they using some kind of custom UI. It can get very annoying not being able to see your casting bar because your macro lines are overlapping it

Not really. There are dat mods to change the backgrounds and font.

Do you have a name of the mod? Also by background, what exactly do you mean by that? Are you talking about the color of the UI?

Here is a video of a UI that seems to be altered. I would like to have mine like this. Its still the same UI just that he has his reduced in size greatly.

Wow thanks alot Ellipses! I believe we are on the same server . I just started playing again and I have to start over. I stopped in I believe 04 so I was just a noob back then and back to being a noob once more. I only hit 65 so I have unfinished business with FFXI

Ouch, so even with their standard UI that overlaps itself and you can't really see how much time is left on casts... its against ToS to modify it .

That looks suspiciously like they're just running "opening in a wall that is probably not a door"er with the "cast a 2nd or more time" "colloquialism for wall-socket + the opposite of out"...

Haha, word puzzles for things we can't say on the boards. I'd bet that first program has its own wiki site you could find it on. Prolly get the 2nd thing there, too.

There's a few different skins you can set. I don't like the "semi translucent bars" look, so I changed it to the "dark blue ocean" pattern. In game open the menu, go to config, and there should be something like window settings, chat windows, color or something

Yea I have mine set to darkblue as well . My problem was that the chat log is to big, if you reduce the amount of lines, the font is to big and can't read certain things because they fly through your log. Between the macro lines and chat log, that takes up like half my screen .

Don't run at 800x600. The UI doesn't scale with resolution. All those components are a fixed pixel count so if you increase your resolution and you'll see more of the world.

Thank you, I'm probably going to leave it as is. I read the ffxiclopedia thing and its just to confusing for me to be tinkering around with. Thanks for the help Mhurron
