Could you imagine how annoying it would get being in two different locations and having both locations music coming through the speakers lol.

Oh yes I can! LOL My husband, son, and I all play and we used to all play in our game room together. There was no way we could all have speakers so we had to use headsets to play.

Heh. I have this problem when doing system link with my friend on fifa. We both get different commentary and one of us has to end up turning it down because we get annoyed with it ^^

Some people kinda beat me to the question here but I'm gonna go on abit:

FFXI runs on seprate servers than Xbox live and if you wana play at the same time you need two Playonline accounts(not Xbox live accounts) as well since the same account can't be logged on in two locations at the same time. Accounts are global so they will log on with any FFXI client you have handy(Xbox360,PC or PS2).

Split screen is not a feature of the game...sorry guy ^^

You said you might not like FFXI but it's up to you and as someone who once wrote a newbie guide(rewrting it and updating it more is gonna be my saturday project) if you really wana give this a try I'd say you should at least get lvl 30 and rank 3[nation missions] if you want give it a real shot. Then again FFXI doesn't apeal to everyone...just like World of Warcraft doesn't appeal to me...
