Damn edge... that's some good graphics... on the pc do you play with the keyboard, or is there a controler you can use similar to ps2? Those graphics might have me sold... I have a pc i bought 5 years ago, it was top of the line then but now, i'm sure it's blah. i might just bring my pc down stairs and hook it up next to my tv and run it there. would there be a problem switching all of my info over from ps2 to pc? so i guess thats a 2 parter, is the game play as easy on a pc using a big screen tv as it is on ps2, and 2, can i get all the info from my ps2 over to a pc?

Edge is a PC gamer and prefers the keyboard/mouse combo EXCEPT for FFXI, he uses a 360 controller. Personally I use a PS2 controller on my pc.

You can use an inexpensive USB adaptor that lets you use a PS2 controller on PC.

You can also pick up a USB gamepad for PC at around the same price at nearly any store that sells video games.

If you go from PS2 to PC, you will need to remake client side game info (macros, personal settings, sorting, and such), but your account info will be fine.

Hey Feba did you forget that SE made a server macro backup now? I used it to transfer my macros from my PS2 to PC and my PS3.

[Saving Configuration]
Bring up the configuration file save screen by pressing the following buttons/keys at the character selection screen, and choose the slot in which you wish to save.
PlayStation 2": L1 button + L3 button
Xbox 360: LB + left stick button
Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [B]

[Loading Configuration]
Bring up the configuration file load screen by pressing the following buttons/keys at the character selection screen, and choose the slot from which you wish to load.
"PlayStation 2": R1 button + R3 button
Xbox 360: RB + right stick button
Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [R]

[Deleting Configuration]
Bring up the configuration file deletion screen by pressing the following buttons/keys at the character selection screen. Confirm deletion to restore default settings for the currently selected character.
"PlayStation 2": R1 button + L2 button + R3 button + L3 button
Xbox 360: R2 + L2 + right stick button + left stick button
Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [D]

To OP: Although I have a PS3 I don't have an HDTV and I can't afford one. I have heard that using the upscaler still makes FFXI look bad, but I have no personal experence with this. I'm not really sure...maybe in a year or two I can afford the $500 or so for a cheap HDTV....

yes. I only knew about being able to make a backup locally, which is insanely useless in these cases. Of course, that didn't keep people from acting like it saved to POL's servers.

Well in the last few updates it's more than local. SE fixed it so it's now a server backup...and yes I've used it ^^
