I have a FFXI account with 2 characters; one for me and one for my bro. What i wonder is; is it possible to play together at the same time with 2 different copies of FFXI? Can we log in together if i buy a new copy for his character while just keep paying for the account i have now and the additional character fee which i also have been paying? Thanks for any informative reply ^^

No. You need two full accounts to play at the same time. And no, you can't transfer a current character from one account to another. If you want to play at the same time, your only option is to have two accounts, and at least one of you has to start over.Ellipses on Fenrir

No. You can log on with 2 accounts at the same time just fine, but characters are tied to an account, and you can't log on with the same account twice.

SE decided it would be too easy to sell charaters that way(so they won't do it). Sorry but there's currenly no way you can tranfer charater between accounts. If you want to play seperatly one of you is just gonna have to come back as a newbie!Shadowneko's FFXI Newbie Guide 2009

A different registration key will allow you to create a new account, since that's what they're for. But a new account is a new account, and there's currently no way to transfer characters from one to another.Ellipses on Fenrir
