    Re: General Questions about FF11.

There are not Euro or NA or Japanese servers. Everyone from around the world can play on the same servers. Pteryx was talking about the actual software you install and that is only a consideration when new expansions are released.

You won't have any more lag then anyone else around the world just because you're in Australia.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

      Re: General Questions about FF11.

I myself am an Australian player on the valefor server, there are no NA/EU specific servers just different versions of the software, i use my visa debit card to pay which works out to be around $16 AUD with my mule on top.

when you first register make sure you have enough money on ur card, because even tho your first month is free, the still check if you have the cash on the card to pay for it.

        Re: General Questions about FF11.

As Pteryx said, there is no "euro server". All the servers are the same for the most part (some like Bahamut will have a more experienced populous since it's been around longer), but they all will have a mix of players from NA, Europe and Japan (and other countries/regions, but those are the main ones). The cost is the same regardless.

Also, ALL the servers (all... 32 of them if I remember correctly) are based in Japan. What has you confused I think is that there are different clients for each of the regions. The JP client will by default show text in Japanese and also includes a handy dandy IME feature so you can write kanji and roman (this) text.

As far as I know, there is no other differences between the clients.... the EU client may offer an IME, it may not, but the NA client doesn't offer it. Also, whichever version you get (the NA or the EU), you can only install the expansions if they are the same type of client (in other words, if you initially install an NA client, you can't install an EU or JP expansion, and likewise for any other combination).
