Peacock charm BCNM

I know this info is available on wiki but I'm at work and my firewall won't let me access it so...

I have been doing BCNM40 Royal jelly with all of my BS's and the return hasn't been bad. Out of a group of three, we usually get a ni or and archer's drop at least twice. However, the Peacock Charm sells for a whole lot more so I'm thinking of switching to that. What's a good setup for this BCNM, and what's the best battle plan for a win? I know there are probably multiple setups, like with most bcnm's, so i'd like to hear different ones if there is anyone out there wanting to share. Also, for those of you thast have been doing the PC bcnm, how's the drop rate?

2 blms and a rdm work great for this fight ( from my experience ) Also, the drop rate is complete shit. Haven't seen a PCC or a Ni for the past 20 BC's.

2 nin/blm spamming elemental ni spells plus a rdm is also a good setup. I had great early success with UO, but the last 20-30 runs have only yielded 3-4 utsusemi: ni spells. Good luck if you decide to try it.

And here I was, thinking about gearing up for this and giving it a shot. I have a bunch of seals I want to burn through, but Ni is the only thing other than PCC (which I don't expect to see anyway) worth any money at all. If that isn't even dropping...

Maybe I should consider another BC.

3x BLM
2x BLM and 1 Kiter (done with DRK or RDM as Kiter)
2x NIN/BLM and 1 Kiter
3x BLU
2x BLU and 1 Kiter

Strategy is generally to kill the 2 weaker eyes while kiting the 1 stronger eye. When the 2 weaker eyes are dead, finish of the strong one. 3x BLM pt just times Stonega2 then Aga's continuously until all are dead. Since Hex Eye (Paralyze move, must be facing the target) is so strong, jobs that can deal damage w/o having to look at the mob are ideal in these cases.

I'm sure other setups could work, but these are the only ones I know of personally.


My drop rate was 1/14 for PCC, which was extremely lucky (although I personally know someone that was 2/2).

Was in a static: NIN/BLM, NIN/RDM, RDM/NIN. Easy as it can be.

We tended to do 3-6 orbs at a time. Utsusemi: Ni drop varied madly; I've seen 3/3, and I've seen 0/6. Probably about 1/3 overall?

After over 80 orbs total, 3 Peacock Charms have appeared. (Probably closer to 90 than 80 runs.) Overall, it has been profitable without PCC--which is good, 'cause I'm NEVER selling mine after going through that much trouble to get it.

Heck, when I quit FFXI, I'm taking the PCC to my digital grave.

all must have stonega 2 and roughly the same Damage Output

ES+Stonega2>Thundaga>Blizaga>Stonega 2 (little eys are dead)
Thunder 2>Blizzard 2> Fire 2 > repeat, until dead

all BLMs Cast at the same time select a :XX on the clock and start with Stonega2, in theory after that all the spells should sink up keeping hate moving around depending on who gets the most damage.

I have never failed on this with this setup, of course we always go 3x taru BLM so we have the MP not sure how it would work with and elvaan or galka in the group.

I go with two Humes and an Elvaan, and we do just fine. We just remember to bring Yagudo drinks and we're good. I've killed the big eye with a Stone I once, with both other party members dead and basically my last shot. That's an absolutely worst-case scenario though. Usually it's cake.

It's so easy Murph, as long as you can time nuke the ES Stonega II you're good to go. And you really can't fuck up a time nuke unless you're retarded. Which I know hong and Kirst are not.
