MrMageo may claim that his way of making gil is a sort of unethical thing to do but it is not. I love it when people manipulate markets of the things I make cuz then I make more gillz selling that stuff. If someone can make a Haggun go from 1million to 2 million in worth that is good for the people that get and sell Hagguns and only bad for people getting thiers the hard way (gil buyers, and people who get everything with gil, wont bcnm for anything)

MrMageo stated in his original post that he just learned this from another player and exitedly opted to share the information with all of you and all I see is a bunch of player haters mobbing to the cause of bashing something without any substance cuz the guy never indicated that hes been doing this "screwing the economy" thing that he wants to start up. All this whining and crap makes me want to take my millions, move your servers, screw your economies and laugh at you all lol.

Anyway.... I make plenty of gil crafting. Its the easiest way to go. Leave all the crappy work to the proud farmers. Let your profits be kept safe by the economic manipulators.

Seriuosly the only people that mess up the economy are RMT and when they leave peeps with ideas like the one Mageo posted about pick the prices back up cuz the mindless cow sellers will keep spamming those low prices even after the RMT leave. The people that cry the loudest when stuff goes up crazy in price are the ones dumb enouph to buy gil for it. Don't you realize that when you buy something worth 2 million you still have that 2 million for the most part? Its and investment, ffxi is a good place to practice this activity.

Your argument may have a point. But you see, the trouble is that he's left a history of other posts behind him on these boards is why we are reacting like this. They are not hating him for this particular method of gil making, we've all done it before to some extent I bet, but they're disliking him due to his post history.

Everything you said here is completely true. When someone tries to inflate the price on things by buying low and selling high, those who can make those things win because they can make them for less then they were initially sold for and still make that higher profit. However, these profits won't last as other people who want their money faster will undercut and prices will eventually drop again until it's not as profitable to make. Thus less people make it, the supply for the item drops and people start paying more for the item because it's rarer. This is the basics of a player based economy.

Those 'mindless farmers' are the people who provide most of the raw materials for crafters to buy on the AH so they can lvl their crafts. They're the suppliers and the crafters are the ones in demand. Just like once a crafter makes the item, they become the supplier and the person who needs the gear/meds/item is the one in demand. It's another basic concept and in it everyone wins.

Actually, it's the fact that MrMageo is known for posting absurd, unfounded and often contradicting ideas and comments that make people take his 'advice' so negatively. Combined with the fact that he *just* learned a basic, common, well known technique that has been in this game since this game started shows that, once again, he's full of it.

Actually it's going to be the people who farm the items and people who make the items setting prices. All his 'idea' does is temporaily and artificially inflate a market. Once other people see this easy to obtain, highly demanded item goin for large sums of cash, they will jump on it and they will crash it. You can *not* monopolize the AH in this game with out cheats and hacks. The way this game is, where everyone can do everything and items can be obtained by any number of players, there is no way to hold onto a high priced, high demand item all by yourself for long. His method of money making is only good for short, sporadic bursts of gil, which to even attempt requires you to have a decent amount of start up cash to begin with.

Tell that to my 200k Haub or my 180K Scorp harness. Prices rise and fall with the wind, and with all investmenst, the bottoms can fall out at a moments notice.

Thousands of players have the ability and knowledge to affect AH prices like that, but don't do it for a reason. This is very old news, heck it was old news before the game was even created.
