Maintenance and NM spawn timers

I have searched up and down on the major sites and I can't find a single thing that's specific about this, so please forgive me if its redundant. I have been after the Western Shadow for about three weeks now. Currently I am 0/7 and I took the last week off from camping it so I can clear my head. When the maintenance ends today, is the window open or does it act as if the NM was just killed? I found a few posts that say it goes either way, but they are all pretty old and I was wondering if there was a current view on how this would work.

From what I have been told, when the server is restarted all mobs behave as if they have just been killed. Which means that all respawn timers reset from this point. However, I bolded this text for a reason. When the server is restarted and when we actually are allowed on to play are two different things. We have no idea how long the server has been up and stable since restart, so it's really hard to guess when windows will be open based on this. It might have been up for 4 hrs by the time we're in, or it might have had a problem and been restarted 20 minutes before we're allowed to log on.

Well, that helps for sure. The window is 16-32 hours and I was just worried about it having the potential to spawn as soon as the servers came back up (let's hope they aren't performing maintenance for 16 hours). At least I will know a general time to start looking tomorrow then.

I've always been under the impression that the server reset essentially opens the window for the NM. That's why there's always a mad rush to get to Aery or BD etc. Some NMs act differently though. Most of the COP 21 hour NMs will pop 21 hours after maintenance. I remember that was how it worked with the Tortoise Shield NM at least.

I would recommend trying to camp in FeiYin just in case.

I ran into that NM one day omw to Beadeaux. Slayed him, got drop went on my way with a smile on my face for killing a 21hr mob. Next day, run into the same NM. Was just as exciting because, well, it's a 21hr mob. That's a fun story for me.

speaking of maintenance and NMs, Faffy was hanging out and unclaimed for quite a while after servers came up today since a lot of people couldn't/can't get on

I was going to camp Eastern Shadow, but with this update taking forever, I honestly don't think I will be able to claim him. =/.

My best luck in getting a Vbow is to do Nyuzle Isle and hope he pops when I get to the 20th floor.
