Sky + signet = bad??

So someone in my LS tonight said not to get signet before sky because it will cause crystals to drop instead of gear/gil drops. Me and a few others are naturally skeptical and asked where we could find this info ourselves. He of coursed couldn't actually tell us where to find the info, instead just saying "Look it up online."

I stand by the theory that signet makes crystals drop cumulatively with items that were already going to drop; especially for an NM that doesn't have a "set" number of items that can drop per kill. Therefore, signet would have no negative effect on drops from gods. If that were the case, no one would get signet evar.

Anyone have any light to shed?

SE confirmed a while ago that crystals only fill empty spaces.

Ya I figured he was just spewing BS. That just wouldn't make sense to me for signet to be negative on drops. No one would ever get it. Thanks for the replies.

There's a limit of 10 drops per mob per kill. Any items will drop first, then crystals may fill remaining spaces. Crystals from S. will never take the place of any items in drops.

I hate when people make up nonsense like that, particularly when Signet is a great tool you shouldn't turn away in Conquest Zones anyway, especially after the update to it last year and especially now that we have jobs like like DNC or BLU, which need to keep TP for thier own ends, not to mention the direct benefits to melee for using it in endgame zones.

Yeah, I would definitely toss this in the same catagory with "Wind Staff makes you run faster" and "If you are naked Sneak lasts longer".

How about if a tank keeps moving while tanking, the mob will miss you more. Oh I remember the MANY "discussions" I had with new players about that one. LOL There was one about Goblin bomb drops too....something along the line that if the tank moves in close to it the Goblin will drop the bomb on itself.
