I heard a rumor....

Does having the wind staff equipped really increase your movement speed?

I watched my friend carry one around all the time and equip it when she wanted run places.

Is this true??

I don't know if it's true or not that your friend ran about with a Wind Staff, but what I can tell you is a Wind Staff doesn't increase movement speed (Be careful with your pronouns).

Just tested it, time was identical allowing for human error.

I am positive that Wind Staff does not increase movement speed. I use it ALOT, especially when kiting for Gravity and the Evasion, and I have never ever noticed a difference.

For the record, I have Herald's Gaiters and a 75 Bard job with Chocobo Mazurka. Believe you me, I would notice if slapping on an elemental staff would change my movement speed.

It seems to me that you could have easily tested this yourself.

Actually it makes a little sense. People might run around with 5% or 10% fleehack to avoid being noticed in crowded areas, as opposed to getting banned quickly with a 400% fleehack. His friend might have seen someone doign that with a wind staff, and thought it boosted movement speed.

It's also possible that you saw them using Wind Staff for moving around because they help Sneak and Invisible slightly, those being wind-elemental spells. -- Pteryx
