Maybe they edited it out of order or spliced together several fights to show us shit that mattered instead of 5 hours of bs we already knew about.

I would give SE more credit if they just followed one fight, however long or short it may be, instead of splicing together 2, 3 maybe 5 fights against AV. It just makes me wonder why they would do it. AV should be a long enough fight to where you can take important short clips of it.

Baraero is obvious. AV only uses Wind-Type Spells and Meteor. Blind in general is a good enfeeble, can save a lot of melee damage. As for Sleep... maybe your supposed to take a break and regroup when things get though?

AV is immune to sleep. Watch toward the end and you see the RDMs casts Utsu: Ni, they are Co-tanking with the PLDs. Blind/Sleep/Dispel are great tools to gain and maintain hate.

The RDMs are tanking. It's pretty common to use RDM tanks on JoL so I'm not surprised they'd use them on AV.

I realize this, but I've never really understood why they're hitting it back, wouldn't they just be feeding it TP?

While the video gives us perhaps a "hint" about defeating it, I was expecting a little bit more from it, I suppose. But who knows, maybe people who rush to kill it (so many shells on Hades are already rushing up to sea) will eventually figure it out. An HNM shell on my server had no one locked in on AV items until today, now because of this 5 minute video they think they can get all this stuff ... it's kind of funny to me, like this video solved all the mysteries of the universe.

Aksannyi, let me put it this way: you only care about "feeding a mob TP" when you are Avesta planning on soloing something.

When you're fighting flipping Absolute Virtue, TP is going to be the least of your issues.

Plus, don't you think that the development team, who actually managed on downing Absolute Virtue, might know what they are doing.

On the other hand, why on Vana'diel the Red Mages in the video were meleeing with a Staff is beyond me; sure, there's the -Physical Damage, but for goodness sakes!

Then again again, maybe the fact that they had to resort to using Staves brought some insight to the development team, hopefully inspiring a good Red Mage front-line fix in the process.

I'm still waiting for something that makes us at the very least a better DD than freaking White Mage.

And for the record, I don't want a freaking Staff skill! Red Mages were never meant to use Staves in the Final Fantasy canon: just Swords. If I wanted a Staff Skill, I'd level White Mage. In fact, maybe I should, seeing how they're better DDs than us . . .

I don't want a staff skill either YM. I'm just saying it's very stupid of them to show these RDMs meleeing with their staves like they actually have some sort of real use. I thought people would pick up on that sarcasm.

As for feeding TP ... I just really don't see a use for them actually swinging the staves with probably crap skill at it anyway - actualy no skill if /nin. If they're just using them for the damage reduction, that's fine. I had issue with them actually swinging the damn things like it's actually going to do a bit of good.
