On my main account I can say I've done quite a bit and managed well, considering the ups and downs of the economy, dealing with RMT, and dealing with the good, bad, and ugly players.
I wanted to see how new players to our community, particularly those who joined us with the launch of Xbox 360 compatibility, are faring in the current conditions.
So.. say hi to Scootch!

He's decided to be a mainjob thief, since to make a buck these days you pretty much hafta steal stuff (he plans to level all jobs so he can get a start on CP and gil before he heads out to the dunes). I have to say so far he's doin' pretty good, spent a few days stuck on level 6 because he couldn't hit worth a damn but finally broke through and got a gear upgrade and an empress band to help get him up to level 9. While he doesn't have Treasure Hunter yet, all the crawlers he's been hunting have been generous with silk thread and he's got a pretty good bank going now even after buying gear. He's even managed to make a few friends already who've helped him take advantage of the AH price differences (getting a Beestinger for free plus a 5k^x profit is sigificant these days!).
Anyways so far the thing I've noticed working with this new guy is that players are just as friendly, and if you work enough you can still manage to pay for your needs. Knowing tricks, like the AH swap thing and what mobs to fight, helps a lot too.
