I know there's another topic, but its been locked due to way offtopicness and flaming so I'm posting this.
They seem to be on AOL IM this time (at least the one I got) but appears to be the same lulu person. Here's my convo. Anyone else meet this person lately? (NNChampion=me, lululovehoon@hotmail.com=rmt). Needless to say, you'd be pretty dumb to actually accept their offer.

How are they even getting these names to ask people? Are they using the interests people list to target them or is it totally random?

I have never used AOL but, i remembered ICQ used to have interests part of the user profile. If AOL has something similar you might beable to search for it as well.

I would certainly hope there isn't anyone out there stupid enough to fall for this trap. However, I have a bad habit of overestimating the intelligence of humanity, and I can't imagine that these people are actually spending time trying to scam individual players if it wasn't worth their time.

So now they want to rent the characters? To me this brings a whole new expression to players that actually do this..... RENT BOYS!!!

Copy and paste this convo to the STF, explain your concerns and that you tried to get as much info out of them as you could, the website (obviously censored for the forum) would help them track down RMT sites and get them closed.

Caspian: They are using IM accounts we have listed on our profiles, almost certainly from FFXIO, and probably from other websites too. This iris/lulu person has done the exact same thing here before.

Best way to deal with them is to use them for your amusement. If you have an MSN account, add it to your profile. Sure, they'll bug you, but you can use them for entertainment, or at the least waste their time.

she asked me before, i asked where she got my IM from and she URLed me to this site, but i remember her having a better english skill, she asks me from time to time, and it always seems to the same person, maybe there are more than one person and i just got lucky in the fact it has been the same person

http://www.onmywaygame.com/ is the company. They have handy list of screennames at the bottom right, so you can block them all before they even contact you. Like Icemage said, I hope people really aren't stupid enough to fall for that.

The same person IMed me last night. It took me a second to catch on so I didn't type in french the whole time like I did the last one.

Help! The RMT haxed me after I gave them my name, password, CC #, home address, and deed to my house! I didn't tell them my in game name tho so I musta gotten hacked by someone1! ohnoezOhnoez!

You know i actually talked to this person alot before, it seemed like the same person and she supposingly showed me a picture of her somehow o_O;(wtf?) She never did once ask me for FFXI information, and just said she worked in China somewhere, we even talked in Chinese for a couple minutes. However her Email did match the link showed above...i just find it weird how she didnt ask me anything about FFXI...

I got an IM from this... person... too. They, it, she... whatever didn't reply after I asked who they were. Googled the name and found it was RMT... blocked now.
