FFXI/RL Irks & Quirks

I know it's stupid to compare a fantasy game to real life for 99% of discussions regarding physics and logic, but sometimes there's some little things that just bug the crap out of me.

Probably my absolute #1: Double Water weather in Ifrit's Cauldron. Wouldn't the steam peel me like a tomato and melt my lungs?

And my #2: Surviving a 30-foot fall landing upright, but being impeded by a 2-foot ledge.

Which ones bug you guys?

The invisible barrier in Upper Jeuno near Batallia Downs exit. I can't seem to figure out what I am running into in the middle of the street.

There is only one thing exactly like real life in FFXI:

Sometimes people pay high level Mithras per hour to get their levels up

Also, people yell at you if you forget to bring drinks to the party.

Another one I thought of, I'm a Sandy citizen, so I have a fireplace. I have 3 snowmen sitting in front of said fireplace, and they don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

That bugs the absolute crap out of me.

Hmm, I kind of wonder why my chocobo doesn't at least harm people/monsters it runs into. Of course, can't harm players ... that'd be just a cruel way to MPK someone. -.-

I really wish I could sit in chairs/on my bed. I mean we have the /sit command, why can't I back my behind up to a chair and sit on it?

Fun fact: Galkas are white because we are made out of marshmallow.

!) the fact that you can't actually kick a taru when you do the macro " xxx kicks xxx"

2) when you get killed or weakened you look the same as when you are full health(im not talking about your health meter or symbles)


3)you cannot fall off of most of the cliffs even though there are no barriers(or for that matter cliff dive)

I always thought they were made of vulcanized rubber, like tires.

I think it kind of sucks that when you do /dance your character doesn't actually dance. Annoying!

Yeah, the not-being-able-to-interact-with-furniture thing really bugs me.

Something tells me I should be grateful that the player-furniture interaction is so limited.
