    Obtaining "Warp"

    Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong place.
    Im pretty new to this game and i've just got to level 17 as my BLM. I was wondering how can i obtain Warp apart from buying it? I think there is a quest in Bastok but i have no idea how to get there from Windurst. Is there anyone that could provide me with some information of how to get to Bastok the quickest way, that would be good.

    Have you been to the Valkurm Dunes yet? If not you want to go there soon as well to get the items for your subjob quest.

    To get to Bastok you'll have to go to Mhaura, a town next to Buburimu Peninsula. From Mhaura you can get a boatride to Selbina. I'd recommend setting your homepoint here. When you exit Selbina, you'll enter the Valkurm Dunes. Go to the south east of this zone and enter Konschtat Highlands. Be carefull in the tunnel in the Dunes, the bats here agro. You should be able to kill them though.

    When you get to Konschtat just head south. At the south end of the zone there is a passage to North Gustaberg. Head south through this zone as well and enter South Gustaberg. When you get to South Gustaberg, just head east and after a while you'll find the entrance to Bastok.

        Thank you very much.
        On that link it says that i need Reputation of 2 with Bastok. Erm, i dont really understand how to check my reputation with a country or anything. So can someone tell me how i do that?

          there is a NPC that tells you your fame level in that country heres a link to the list of NPCs: http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Fame also tells you that if you have fame in X country that it will spread and you get fame in Y country

              Good luck and use this site http://www.ffxi-atlas.com/ it will show you maps of every region meaning your can plan you course to Bastok in advance

                Heh. Have a grand time travelling in Vana'Diel. ^_^

                (BTW, you can farm your own slime oil in Horutoto Ruins--just may take a while.)

                  I don't think im going to have this for quite some time.
                  I haven't even got rank 2 fame with Windurst so, i doubt im going to have it anytime soon with Bastok.

                    Bastok fame is easy to get. It's a little time consuming, but it's easy. You can spam Only the Best in Selbina for cheap, or Mom, the Adventurer? in Bastok itself for a profit (you can buy the Copper Ring in the jewelry shop, and the quest reward more than covers the cost, plus you get a free fire crystal every time). It's also a handy fame gauge, since when she stops giving you that quest, and gives you a different one, it means you've reached Fame 2.

                      Thanks for the help! I've decided to go for the Mom, The Adventurer quest and just raise my Fame as much i can today. Then hopefully i am able to get the Warp quest done

                        Rank is not the same as Fame. Rank rises through missions for your nation. Fame is more or less a hidden stat that increases as you do quests for various towns/nations.
