There was Registration Server Maintenance. It should have been over by the time of the OP, and almost certainly is by now.Ellipses on Fenrir

Nah when you first register you will only get charged for the remaining days plus next month after the 30 free days are over. People who joins now will get charged on February for that month plus a few days from Jan.
Now, if it's an aditional content ID they are buying that's another story.
