  • Lvl 1's fishing in SSG, standard?

    5 naked lvl 1 characters lined up in the non-agro spot in SSC fishing. Is this legit or gil-sellers/bots? I can't really understand why S-E wouldn't be on top of this, yet I also can't really understand why anyone (let alone multiple people) would create a lvl 1 just for fishing in SSG.

    Could be just me, but I doubt the characters were created solely for that purpose. I mean, don't you have to be at least level 25 just to get the quest for the airship to Khazam(sp?) anyways?

      With hacks, Lv.1 character can visit everywhere!
      Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
      yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
      Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
      leaving no trace in the water.

        Well they were all naked and at least 3 were lvl 1. Oddly enough, some were even flagged LFG (or is it LFP in this game?). In fact right now I did a "/sea all 1" and then filtered for SSG and there are 3 lvl 1 warriors LFG/LFP in SSG. And supposedly they all speak english.

        If the only way they can get there is to hack, then why aren't they insta-banned? It's so obvious it would only take a GM less than 10 seconds to look.

          Those are bots. Just reporting them is the best you can do. I fish in Nashmau and they bot in sets of three naked and on top of eachother. They basically have it so that when one set fatigues from fishing, they switch them out for the next set on the same accounts. That way, they can fish 24/7 and make bite rates crappy for everyone!
          To be the best in this game...you must help each other become the best.

            GMs are for "Must be solved now problems", such as felling in to water and can't get out, players MPK'ing, severe bugs like NPCs handing out 10,000 gils repeatedly for the just clicking on it, etc. (Falling into water and get stuck? Happened to a friend in Dynamis. Needless to say, he really didn't want to stay there.)

            For cheaters/botters/RMT, use this link to report them: https://secure.playonline.com/supportus/exmf.html

            Scroll down to "Report to Special Task Force".

              Pretty sad imo and they clearly don't care enough. This game is one of the easiest to hack and provides the largest benefit for doing it (thanks to the itemization that "requires" millions of gil expenditures) yet they have the worst way of dealing with it of any modern MMO. With just 1 employee running checks on commonly hacked areas they could eliminate the vast majority of these issues. If 1000 accounts are banned for hacking lvl 1's to SSG to fish or 2000 are banned for hacking into walls to do high level mining then they should be checking those areas several times a day.
              Edit: I went to that link and tried to report them, after using the drop-down menu to select suspected RMT activity I got page not found error. LOL.

                I thought you could also buy the airship pass to Kazham? Or was the Galka just lying and you can only bring keys? I know you can buy the 'regular' old AS pass, if you were ridiculously desperate.

                Either way, probably bots. Report, let the GMs investigate.

                  Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't have used that link. Let's try this again:
                  1. https://secure.playonline.com/supportus/index.html
                  2. Find "E-mail Support", and click on the You can send mail form inquiries from here link.
                  3. Scroll down to "Report to the Special Task Force"

                  * * *

                  As for GMs not caring, that's not exactly correct. As I've written, they are for handling urgent customer issues. S-E has staffed a separate "Special Task force" for dealing cheaters and RMTs who do not require immediate attention.

                  Every fish bot I reported disappeared within two days. Every member of a coterie of RMT/botted BLMs running to Cloisters of Storm I reported was never seen on /search again. STF's record is quite impressive in my experience, as you as you provide enough information.

                  Would it be nicer if GMs go on "patrols" to look for rule violators and file reports to STF for investigation? Sure. But, time spent looking for RMTs and botters who may or not be there is time not used to fish players out of waters. They have their duties, as prescribed by S-E, not by players who expect GMs to fix anything and everything they see as wrong.
