Sony fixed the collection..finally!

A hidden/unlisted feature of system update 2.10 is that now the Vana'diel Collection 2008 disks are now installable on PS3 systems. I wish I had a better sources(uhh wikipedia and Sony's message board...bad sources...I'll see what Wings does when I get home) but it seems the issue where the installs would not find the PS3's HDD has been fixed.

Now all our fun friends can play XD

They didn't work? I've had mine installed since the day it was released, provided I didn't use the conventional method of popping the disc in and letting it do the work itself, because it told me I had no HDD. I just opened the POL viewer and went and hit the install button with the disc in, although I had to do a fresh install of everything.

Either way, it works.

well if you put them in straight up without the POL viewer they wouldn't find the Hard Drive. Now they will ^^

It's this problem that was fixed. It was a software issue on Sony's side that was changed during their update apparently.

If you want an official source of info for this just look for XI on the compatibility list for the 80Gb model, it says all issues have been resolved on version 2.00 (FFXI) and 2.10 (expansions).
