newb in need of help

Big surprise im sure, a newb asking for help who would have thought. IM jsut curious though as to what servers are good and which ones i should avoid. I do intend to do some crafting, but it would be nice to find a server with a friendly community as well. Since it will probably make some diffrence i am playing on the pc.

Same response everyone gets when they ask this question: All servers are basically the same. Pick one. Doesn't matter. Have a friend that plays ffxi? join his server. Don't have a friend the plays? Doesn't matter.
