  • Campaign question

Hey guys, so i'm playing with Campaign and i'm having alot of problems getting to a freashly started battle, or just any at that...

The region map for Campaign doesn't help much, it shows that one place has a battle, I get there and theres nothing. The battle icon will still be on the map for several minutes. Other times I get there and I barely can do anything because it ends.

My question, is there any way to tell how far into a battle has gone, or to see when one will start up? It's confusing to me, hopefully i'm not the only one.

    Re: Campaign question

As far as I know, there isn't a way short of sending a /tell to check the progress of a battle. That said, my trick is almost never go somewhere that's currently displayed as in a battle. Instead, check the map every 30 seconds or so. When a new one shows up, go there. However, if you're impatient, there's usually one in the Meriphataud Mountains (at least on Remora), and if it's just finished, it'll start back up within a few minutes a good portion of the time.

Yeah, sucks like that, I had/have the same problem. Only way to ensure a decent battle is to memorise blank spots so you know when there is a fresh one started.

This shouldn't even be a problem anymore. If the other nations are anything similar to San, then Meriphitaud and Passhow should be huge hot spots for fighting. Even the starter zones should be good to go.

Also seems that specific 'dungeons' , at least on Sylph is always in a battle. Like this weekend, before Windurst lost Garlaige Citadel, there was 7 battles, back to back (with only 4 of us in there , sure made things interesting).

Crawler's Nest, Meriphaud Mountains, Eldieme Necropolis and Rolanberry Fields also seem to have quite a few battles going on. (again, at least on Sylph).

              Re: Campaign question

One of the reasons why the dungeons have a hard time being defended is because you can't teleport there! People do not want to teleport outside the starter zone, then run to the area to defend it. If they made it so you could teleport in the dungeon, I will be more than willingly to help defend it.

On Midgard, Jugner Forest seems to be fairly busy at times ... it certainly seems to be a place people are willing to wait for battles to start.

I dont agree, I cant see any pattern at all on where fights are/length/frquency if battles. Sure, if you wait long enough you will see a battle in an area, but people wanna teleport round and get max exp/AN.

On another note, they really need to adjust the strength of the NPC BLM's in Windy. When they are out you might as well warp and go somewhere else, they decimate anything and everything in minutes >.>

Are campaign battles increasingly difficult as you spread away from the starter cities?

Nope. Not that I have noticed anyway.

                        Re: Campaign question

In my experience, yes, the mobs scale in level as you move away from the starter zones. That observation is mostly based on where I can and can't Repose things though (W. Saruta (full cycle), Fort K-N (2), Meri. Mts. (1), Garlaige and Sauromugue (0)). That and it seems like the mobs in Sauromugue Champaign hit a helluva lot harder than the mobs in West Sarutabaruta.
