Songs similar to FF songs?

Now, I'm sure plenty of us know that Uematsu got the insperation for the opening of OWA from Purple Haze, but does anyone know of any other songs that have similarities with FF songs?

Songs that are similar to each other, especially where it's likely an homage/tribute, are just something that interest me.

I don't know of any such songs, though, or none come to mind instantly. I'm not exactly an audiophile, though, mind you.

Someone pointed out to me a notable similarity between part of a Neil Young song and the Mako Reactor theme in FFVII, but I can't recall the title right now.

Also, my mom swore once that the town theme from FFIV was ripped off of a Beatles song, but I never was able to find something that matched in their collection, so I'm inclined to dismiss that one.
