Well I made a post yesterday about the random bannings going on. There is a Killingifrit spam of the same post with links to a recording with a CSR from PoL as well as a quote from a SER James, stating that the account was banned for doing synthesis to sell items on auction house and then RMT. This is hilarious becasue the account has 52 smithing and 48 gold, nothing else over 10. Also not doing more than a dozen synths in 2 years on log in synthesis records. This was an obvious mistake and an earlier rep is recorded as stating that several with even no crafting levels were banned for the same reason sunday night. Kind of strange huh? Mind you the last thing bought by the account on leviathan was a balmung for its 75DRK. This was a old account with the original owner still as well. Funny as well cause the SER and CSR both admited that things like this have been going on and refused to comment on the servers being pruned for a shutdown of the game in preperation for ff13 release. Kinda stupid as well since the gameplay is to be totally different. Both CSR and SER did comment that if the ban should be undone (though the SER claimed thats impossible, while the CSR claimed that there is paperwork going through for an investigation) that there would be compensation.

Re: random bannings happening
you do know that just because people say they are legit doesn't mean they are, the botting list from awhile back was big proof. Alot of people bot craft because it takes no effort at all lol.

Re: random bannings happening
I told you in the other thread that it was me. I made up stuff about your guy and then told it to GMs. I'm very convincing and besides, one of them didn't like you for stealing his claim on VE while on his personal account, so it wasn't all that difficult to get them to ban you.
Oh and in all non-facetiousness, a character with 52 smithing and 48 gold can truly do a good bit of RMT activity--most GS crafters are not "uber-1337"--they just level high enough to make their target product.

Re: random bannings happening
The first mistake you made was believing something you saw posted at KillingIfrit. Nothing specifically wrong with their site or forum, except perhaps that the forums are so infrequently and laxly monitored, and the user base gullible enough such that people can just make something up and have someone believe them.

Re: random bannings happening
Look at it this way, atleast his story in entertaining on some level, assuming you can get through the wall of text.
shutting downthe game because of ff13 does seem somewhat extreme. We should all fly to Japan and complain directly about all this business.I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

Re: random bannings happening
That would be a pretty fucking stupid thing for SE to do, as they are well aware (along with the rest of the world) that shutting down XI for a game that's going to be largely focused on the still-behind-the-others PS3 is a Bad Idea. (Largely, I said. Please no baaawww-ing over the other parts of that little group of games being on other platforms.) If anything that won't happen until their next MMO launches, and probably still not immediately.

Capcom was smart and took MH3 off the PS3. They were less smart in putting it on Wii, as that is going to *seriously* cramp the online style vets are used to, but I supposed putting it on 360 where most 'cheaper online' games require Gold accounts was an equally bad idea to Capcom, so they went for the free-online one. (So far as I know only PSU and FFXI let you access w/ Silver. LOL M$) [/randomaside]
So, in short, your conspiracy theory makes no fucking sense."If you keep me waiting much longer, it damn well better be the end of the Galaxy." ~ Kaidan
