Re: When should I buy the expansions?

Personally I like to grab all and any expansions right away. You should grab them too especially if you switch off between systems frequently.

Say you log out in Promyvion-Dem or 1 of the expansion jobs. You will not be able to log in on the other system if the expansion has not been installed.

Re: When should I buy the expansions?

Mostly I would but all...but it's for the jobs in the expansions. At lvl 30 you get to do job unlock quests and so far these jobs got added:

      TAOU:
      Corsair
      Puppetmaster
      Blue mage

      Wings of the Goddess:
      Scollar
      Dancer

also having access to new areas is nice and waiting untill you hit a certina level to order something and waiting weeks to get it or you can't level is a big pain!

Here's what ya do, buy the 2008 collection for Xbox, then download a torrent for PC version... then you have best of both worlds.

Hmm, so a quick question here. Will the codes from the XBOX 360 version of Vana'diel 2008 work with the PC version of the game? I've got a few friends coming back to the game and they only have the base game atm (due to using the buddy pass), so they were wondering if they can just buy the collection for PS2 or XBOX 360 and use it on their PC accounts, or if they need to buy the PC version of 2007 and the new expansion separately.

I think it should work, it doesnt matter, you can use them on any system. But you have to use the CDs to download it.

yes any CD key will work for any version of the game, as long as its the same region

              example:
ENG account + ENG code = yes
ENG account + JP code = no

Though Summoner was released with RoZ, you do not need RoZ to play it.

Here's the thing about the new Vana'diel Collection 2008. They use only one registration code for the whole package. So if they already have an account set up, they won't be able to tack it on by buying the 2008 package. You were able to do that with the 2007 package, because they still used separate reg codes for each expansion. 2008 has one for all, and it can't be split. I tried looking on the official site, but I couldn't find a link to it.

I would just buy the 2007 collection then, and then when I need to get WoTG I would just buy that one. It seems alot easier that way...

You can too use the 2008 registration code with an existing account. You have to choose between using it to make a new account with everything unlocked OR using it on an existing account to unlock everything you don't already have. This was clearly explained on the official site. The "one code" just makes it so you aren't left with spare codes for IDs you've already registered, so that they don't have people reselling codes. I bought a 2008 disc just to use for install and sold the code from it to a friend that downloaded the PC disc and just needed a reg code for the expansion, and he was able to use it to add WotG to his existing account.
