    Re: Campaign Experiences

The gate allows you to travel from E Ronfaure to the otherwise unreachable outpost in Jugner. When following the stream down from the lake towards the outpost you'll see it to your right. It's definately a big shortcut, but not exactly the biggest. It's necessary to use if you're escorting reinforcments.

Does anyone know how to get Reinforcements?

        Re: Campaign Experiences

He's referring to the Vanguard line of Campaign Ops.

You select the mission, then travel to a gate guard and guide the NPC to the fort in the area. Not sure why anyone would bother doing it in jugner, it's quick and very safe to do so in east ronfaure.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping it might offer more of a reward.

              Re: Campaign Experiences

I think Eldieme is broken. When it's under beastman control the C.A. stands right next to the fortification, and the orcs never defend the room the fortification is in. Others, including myself, simply stand around waiting for the campaign to begin, and then whack away at the fortification often wracking up 1000+ exp without any risk. It's neat, but broken.

                Re: Campaign Experiences

Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread earlier or not, but after doing a few more Campaigns as of late, I noticed something.

The Quadavs are a LOT weaker now. Most other campaign mobs seem to be as strong and dangerous as they were before, but with the Turtles, things I couldn't even *hit* before with my 70 war/sam with full acc gear+buffs up I can now easily TP on with my 65 Thf. Not only that but their Diamond Shell seems to wear off a lot faster now.

As a result, for two weeks straight, Bastok has had total control over their zones on Cerberus. Where as both Windy and Sandy have lost one of theirs.

And yet, for some reason, we still have 0 Recon and very few Campaign Ops available...

You have 0 recon because there are no Quadav owned zones. There is no place for them to do reconnaissance on their enemy if their enemy doesn't have a base. This little problem will probably change when Beadeaux [S] is added.

Also Elivira is too strong imo. Coronach->1 shot->Coronach->Darkness->Coronach=dead Quadav from full.

While Sandy had all zones they had 2 Recon, when windy had them all, they've had 1. When Bastok only had Gusta, we still had 0. Areas of control do not affect recon.

Only good theory I heard about that is the player suggestion thing where you can give your home nation your suggestions on how to run things.

Also, all special NPCs are over-powered. Maximilian can drop a 5k Vorpal Blade with no problem.

                      Re: Campaign Experiences

SE has confirmed my fears about any melee updates to RDM turning people's brains to shit. I can't recall but one WHM and no RDMs that have bothered to raise or cure people in campaign, more often, I've had PLD, BLU or a DRK raising me. Subbing WHM is pretty much a requirement because you can't expect anyone to cure you in Campaign except for the stray pixies, yet mages were WAY more helpful in Besieged.

I think things like Recon have more to do with national policies you help decide and Intel missions that are carried out, if the beastmen have no forts under control, there's no intel to gather, really. The missions influence supplies, reinforcements and all manner of things, but I don't think they influence everything.

                        Re: Campaign Experiences

Don't bother with supply escorts in Jugner, it's a huge fucking pain in the fucking ass. I couldn't get the bastard to sit still, much less catch up with him when he ran off. Everytime I got aggro he would run off while I was fighting, making it super extra fucking difficult slash dangerous to chase after his stupid ass. Once I got to the outpost I was too busy being molested by a tiger to check with the NPC at the fort to finish the quest, and now I'm not so sure I can anymore.

THERE ARE NO SCOUTS, THERE NEVER WERE ANY SCOUTS, THERE NEVER WILL BE ANY SCOUTS, THEY DON'T EVEN EXIST, NOW LET'S FOCUS HERE BUDDY WE'RE GOING TO THE TOWER YOU CAN SEE FROM HERE AND ALMOST TOUCH IF YOU REACH OUT FAR ENOUGH LET'S FOCUS

Edit: Yea, not talking to the NPC before the reinforcment disappears fails you. GG SE, GG.

                          Re: Campaign Experiences

People are fucking retarded in Campaign.

Pulling mobs away to solo them for points (usually far out of sight, thus prolonging the fight greatly)

People who can cure/raise outright refusing to do so. If you want to melee, come on a job designed for it for fuck sake or at the very least pay attention to who's dying/dead.

PLD need to stop being chicken shit and voke. I'll cut NIN some slack here since all they ever get to do is tank when the job was never meant to tank (originally)

Seriously, be a team player or GTFO.

nothing beats the whm/nin who doesn't have the raise spell!

really i had like 4 mages run by me while i was dead D: and none of them did anything . although the 5th mage started resting beside me. but before he finished resting. a drg raised me (this drg also raised another dead guy beside me).

                              Re: Campaign Experiences

While I do welcome the freedom Campaign offers to play more to your own liking, I think there should be some incentive to play to your role as well.

Maybe things will get a little more coordinated as new Ops open up, but nothing really changes about my melee jobs in Campaign, I don't see why beating a mob with a staff is suddenly such a great idea because my mage jobs didn't change, my RDM would just get to melee with no objections. That doesn't mean I stop hasting, curing and raising people.

I'm grinding my BST really hard to 66 just so I don't have to worry about getting a raise or a failed mission because some idiot had to sack pull all the yagudo to zone in GC. Really, you're not losing EXP, you fucked up, just die and don't bring everyone in the zone down with you. I've literally lost two Smokescreen missions to that crap and have started to find the safe paths from Yags and waiting there til the yags run back.

If its not based on zones, then yeah its probably based on player's tactical choices.

If the mob doesn't have a strong AoE, like Wrath of Gu'Dha, whatever that Orc Warmachine does, and some Yagudo's Sweep, I'll end up meleeing the mobs with Carby or Fenrir. I always keep the "tank" targeted with Cure III ready to go though. If I'm hitting for <25-30ish, I'll back off. No point in feeding TP with weak damage.

EDIT: Oh yeah, NPCs are starting to annoy me. While they should stronger than players, being able to take 3+ mobs including NMs without loosing to much HP, not to mention able to fend them off with little effort. Doesn't feel like I have to go if the NPCs can take care of it. Maybe I am just bitter.
