    DRK "testing" : Double Besieged tonight. Undead Swarm & Mamool Jas

    Odude DRK: NO Merits - 4/4 Crits and that's it. Nobody wants a DRK when you have a RDM, so I've given it no love. Can build Acc up to +52, STR+51.

    I noticed a hit in Accuracy, so I had to go all the way to the Acc+52, and Hasso. DPS difference wasn't that noticeable, but I did lose roughly 35 Atk since the update if memory servers me right. But again, we're back to WS.

    In Besieged I usually drop 700 range Spinning Slashes, my average was 399. I actually had 5 straight that were exactly 399. I had one that was in the 700 norm, but I can only chalk that up to being a crit.

    Moved to Scythe after 10 S.S.'s, and wanted to cry. Again DPS was fine, about what it would be against an IT+ mob, but I couldn't get a full return Guillotine during 2 hours of Besieged. I didn't try Spiral Hell or Cross Reaper since for the most part those aren't going to be used in a majority of Meripos, but 50% accuracy on Guillotine was the "norm." Since accuracy makes or breaks the multi-hitter, I think I did 400 once, and I attempted a Souleater Guillotine and just as I hit my macro the mob decided to run 50 feet away from me. I hate Besieged lag & hate.

    I'd seek as DRK, but I don't want to sit in my Mog House for 5 hours. So unless a LS party gets together, I won't be testing DRK in a merit situation for a while.

      This is utter fucking BS, and my LS mates and I are all pretty well in agreement that SE fucked up 2 handed WS big.

      I had a few WS with Soborro go below 300 tonight againt EP colibri. Considering I was able to do consistently higher damage than that before any of the updates , this is complete crap. WTF did SE do to Y/G/K? Did they change the TP mods back to how they were on top of this other nonsense?

      And if SAM was the major concern, why did they have to go and hit all 2 handers?

            Take exception then, because I took up RNG after the nerf and have stuck with it to this day, you feel out of love when the nerfing began. I was a BRD when the nerfing happened. I watched all the gimped Scorpion Arrow RNGs fade away after that nerf for the most part - they were the bandwagon.

            Notice how everyone and thier grandma suddenly loved being a SAM after August? I did. Certainly enough interest was generated for people to form up random pick up groups for soboro runs. That shit doesn't normally happen, before then you couldn't find people organized enough to want to go do it.

              This is the truth. There will always be people who go on the bandwagon - it's human nature. However, a lot of these are gimp - not all, but a high proportion. Hell, I have one in my ls who refuses to buy a hauby - well he did refuse, for as far as I am aware, he is dumping sam now to focus on DNC. The gimp ones are easy to tell, they often have one sub onry (/nin, from the previous bandwagon), and all they are concerned with is pumping out the highest epeen numbers possible.

                Man, I wonder how many people are actually going to use the 'suggestion box' in POL and tell SE to fix 2handed/WS damage. I'm sure if enough ppl (mostly JP) will complain they will do something about it.

                For RNG bit, I've been playing RNG pre/post nerf and I've been lvling it since then. Why? Because I love RNG. Now right now I'm putting it on pause and will only use it for end-game events/missions/besieged so I can focus on lvling SAM to 75. I'm a complete cheap whore and will merit up RNG via SAM. XD!

                    Hmm.. I'm wondering, when they fought Fafny, do you think they were eating their meats? That could be a possible reason why their WS dmg is so low. If their WS dmg can be back to pre-nerf then honestly I don't see a problem in that. Bal, exactly what was in their party that the HNM/gods died so fast?

                        I don't know, I just kept hearing people say gods were dieing too fast and people were melee burning Kirin, and that its ridiculous and yadda yadda. Where are those people now? I suppose the people who used to say that are satisfied now, or maybe not? I don't know?

                          Don't fucking lump me in with the bandwagoners.

                          I liked the way RNG was originally, 'cause it was fun shooting for crazy damage well out of AoE range ; ;

                          I stopped playing it as soon as I hit lv 16 'cause I realized at the rate I was going I was gonna be broke > . < so I stopped for several months to level aclhemy and woodworking (I wanted to make my own bullets) and during that time is when the nerf struck.

                          There's very few jobs I don't like(and even then I don't believe in ever half-assing a job, 'cause it's rude to the PT and you're not getting the full experience of the job. I have been putting off DRK and DRG because quite frankly, I couldn't stand using a 2 handed weapon, especially on my WAR because I would frequently hit for lower damage than a 1 hander while eating meat with berserk up.

                          Lord knows I don't skimp on gear either (My WAR/NIN was pretty pimped out before I quit it) and yet, on certain set ups I always seemed to just fail miserably (WAR, DRK...). SAM and DRG worked out okay, but for some god damn reason even with 4/5 DA merits, Meat , Zerk etc I couldn't get consistently high rampages.


                          Even on a full 18 TP return WS, I'd usually struggle to get over 500 dmg in mire on anything but Jnun... I'm not sure if my client is broken or what, but I really do hate this shift back towards Dual Wield. I fucking loathe /NIN. I liked the 2nd update (1st 2 handed update really was broken @.@) and the feeling I got from whooping ass in Besieged with my Great Axe :3

                          Shit, I still couldn't break Rampage records (I did get the occasional 1k+ rampage) with Raging Rush before, so I can pretty well forget it now. Thanks a lot SE... (RR caps at 4 hits, while spampage caps at 8 if /NIN...)

                            Hmm, I notice that there's a general theme of "DoT is fine, WS are shit" and even though it's mostly SAMs complaining, other 2H jobs have also been reporting WS damage going down significantly. I have yet to see anything one way or the other about 1H WS. Can anyone confirm that 1H weaponskills are unaffected by the update?

                            I've heard some conflicting things from different sources, and I'm starting to wonder if this is less an issue of the 2H adjustment in raw form and more some sort of formula glitch.

                            I remember some of the reports that WS damage hasn't dropped much explicitly cited alternating swapping Hasso and Seigan, and saw some posted numbers show a lot of variance even though the average was apparently not too bad. How many of the 2H jobs other than SAM have experienced problems when not subbing SAM? (I specifically note tdh's account, the main detailed non-SAM account I've seen, was on DRK/SAM) Could any SAMs try doing a comparative breakdown of WS averages under Hasso vs. unaided to try to see whether Hasso is working normally?

                              I was hitting 1.3k+ gekkos today (ep's) on Sam/Thf with my crafting apron as body and some other random equip I had lying about as I semi retired Sam about 2months ago to lv Drk and take a break as life would have it. Anyways I had 63 + 56 Str with hasso up and no food. My equip for sam has never been anything exceptional but its alot better, even today, than alot of the "We lved Sam to 75 to do 1.5k ws'" Sams and I only every did 1.5kish max before the update so Im not seeing what the big deal is as Im sure with a Hauby and things like shura haidate I could easily deal the same 1.5k+ as before.

                              As I said I was on ep's and there could be a massive damage reduction on VT to IT's. Just saying because alot of people above have been saying their ws on ep's sucked. It doesnt really.

                              Edit: Oh and in an exp PT yesturday fighting Beetles in garliage around lv49 I was doing 300-400 Power Slashs to IT mobs which is alot more than the 100-200 I was doing before the patch on ITs.

                                malacite. relax. have you gone and tested this yourself? in every single update thread you blow a gasket about this. srsly, relax. its only 1 day after the update. let more parsers come in to tell how it really is.

                                I was in an ISNM @ jade sepulcher last night with a pimped out sam using hagun. my rng is pretty well equipped too: osode, cfg, scout socks, s-bow+demons. my shot for shot dmg capped at 133 every time. 166 on crits. his shot for shot was 68-75 crits for 106.

                                you have to take into account that its a puk mob, i get a bonus since im using archery.

                                my sidewinder max was 886 with /nin, vs, courel subs and str+36

                                his highest kasha actually was 928 with /nin, sole sushi but most of his ws ranges from 700-800.

                                thats HARDLY gimp. given the fact that he let of more ws at a ratio of 2:1 I really cant see what people are complaining about.

                                I dont agree with omgwtfbbq a lot but he said that if you need an update to help you drop big numbers and keep up with other dd, then maybe its not the 2h update that you should be worrying about.
