    Taken from a thread on KI, DRK that is pimped out, AdaBerk, Ace's Helm, etc. Post patch, 150 dmg on FF? Gtfo SE.

    That's why all MAXED SAMs are pretty much doing somewheres around 600-700, lows of 400, on VT mobs? Hahaha, oh wow.

    Way to go SE, way to f*ing go... all the MNK and DW people start bitching and look what happens. God forbid the other fighting styles even get a chance.

    I still don't get the big deal over SAM. It really didn't seem that over powered to me. In the last few PT's I was in as both 75 SAM and 71 BRD I found the MNK and SAM were doing close to the same damage roughly. The SAM through spike obviously and MNK through DoT. I don't have a parser but it all seemed right to me.

    Also, the new STR/DEX ratios seem to be 4:3 according to BG. And Tachi: Gekko is apparently royally effed up at the moment with super low damage.


    As it stands, 2 Handed damage is actually weaker then it originally was before SE started fiddling around with it.

    SE doesn't have a knack for satisfying the players. They try, but the society is never settled. Whether it be SE's not putting enough effort into focusing on jobs rather than putting other things to the side or rather the society doesn't look seeing another job achieve more than their own job in damage and playstyle.


    Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

      Wow. So it's far worse than I even thought it would be. I thought I'd go from 1200 Gekko & Kashas to 800. *sigh*

      SAM was getting insane. With Lv.3 Overwhelm, basically forget it. Anybody else is going to be hard pressed to out a SAM even with some of the best gear there is. Toss in that we can WS so quickly with 6 Hit builds, Meditate, blah blah blah, a SAM could 2k damage to a mob alone. Toss in Med and you can hit 3.5k to a mob. Can't get rid of Meditate, but I didn't expect them to completely take us out either. *sigh*

      Question is, are there enough 2 handers, especially SAMs, that will whine like with the last update to get a patch update? *sigh*

        if thats the fairy server. then i recognize that drk. as yelling at me for being a killstealer. due to him thinking as a lvl 60 drg/whm he can solo ose :x

        and i dont know if its that bad i mean that is fafnir D: it is a wyrm.

        only time will tell (aka xp parties)

          Haven't tested DRK, but killing Tabar Beaks outside of Port Jeuno, and I can't break 1k with 5/8 GKT Merits, STR75+66, 'Zerk, Warcry, and a Hagun. This probably won't be pretty in a Meripo. I'm seeking as SAM right now.

          I can't remember what my Attack was yesterday, but I'm right around the 400 mark. I know my DRK's attack was at 515, so I'll switch later and see how it measures up.

          The STR & DEX ratios aren't horrible, and DPS might not suffer to badly, but WS damage being demolished doesn't make any sense. Let's drive the masses back to what it was.

            I still think it was just fine after the initial adjustment (when they toned it down just after the patch and fixed the accidental 1 hander nerf)

            I was unaware how brutal Overwhelm was though O. O yikes. I haven't merited my SAM at all, so that's probably why I didn't see that big of an issue. Still, it was nice seeing WAR DRG DRK and SAM kicking some ass for change instead of just MNK and Dual Wielders. I rather liked 1 STR = 1 attack too tyvm...


            Well, we never know. SE might actually catch their mistake and fix this in a few days. Or they'll try to save face the way they did with RNG...

              Don't know how they going to do the same thing for RNG as they are for SAM seeing how SAM already has Hasso.

              I did a 1109 Gekko on Seiryu with Gekko today. That's all I've done so far. It doesn't seem horrid. Oh and that was without Overwhelm but with SATA.

                Yeah, that 15% "damage bonus" can be pretty intense. Base damage for Gekkos and Kashas right around 1200, and with gear you can push it into the 1500's and keep it there. That was intense, but I finally broke 1k against a Tabar Beak but I also Double Attacked. No more Soboro in Merits if this sticks.

                I liked the 1:1 ratio too, but 4:3 ain't that bad really. It's the WSs that appear to have been truly squashed.

                  Still updating, 3 hours ago, I was at 5.5 hours remaining. Now, after resetting a few times due to it dropping me, im at 10 hours.

                  Give it a day or two, I hope its another goof and they'll fix it soon. But, yeah, right now that sucks.

                      I would not be suprised within a week everyone will start whining to nerf RNG again and get SAM back to 1:1 ratio. From what I'm hearing it isn't that bad. Most likely this is another mathamatical error thanks to good 'ol SE. And besides, aren't they still tinkering around with 2handed update to see which mathematical equation is the sweet spot?

                        The debate/tests are still going on over @ BG. The server congestion atm is rather bad too, so that's not helping any. I plan to test out my SAM the moment I can get on.


                        And as someone who RNG before all the nerfing began, I take exception to that comment BBQ. Velocity shot however appears to be made of win. And if you bothered to click the link, you'd see the numerous screens and comments from others who've experienced similar BS. If what ppl are saying is true, I can forget about using my Soboro in Merits ever again >_>

                          Well, if it's just soboro that blows goats, I don't see the problem. Soboro is a level 50 weapon with junk dmg even for level 50. It's not supposed to deliver decent WS damage. Use it to power SAM/RNG sidewinders or change to a weapon with real DMG at higher levels.

                          Have you considered that hagun may not be made of pwn anymore? Anyone have a higher damage GK and tried their WS damage with that?

                          Someone on my LS reported that str is now 0.8 atk, which seems fine to me. (We can guess that dex is the same, although it may take longer to confirm.)

                            Soboro's doing over 1k damage on colibri consistantly was a tad borked. If it moves everyone to a more even footing, great. Glad I picked up that PCC and snipers and stuff for my upcoming sam. This won't stop me from levelling it.

                            And last I checked, BBQ has got rng 75 rofl. At least this update gives rng a chance again.
