  • Private Dungeons

I found this on another forum. I don't know if it's already posted, but if it is I apologize.

    http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/vie...=26118&start=0

    One of the lines says:

private dungeons...players can design dungeons to challenge players

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.

if true, will likely be very suck. Most of FFXI's levels (as far as design goes, not visuals) are already very lame. Possibly three exceptions. Possibly.

Player made levels will just be crap.

      Re: Private Dungeons

Right now, my faith in BG is exactly the number of your posts minus the number of Feba's posts. No offense to you, mind you.

I just find things, such as "u can opem a shop in ur mog house now" and these private dungeons, as both illogical and far-fetched at the very least. As Feba said, player-made content will suck... it will either be impossibly hard (think every terrestrial god in a battlefield where your level cap is 1, limit 6 people... and the gods aren't nurfed) or insanely easy (think the same situation, but level cap 75 limit 32 people, and the gods are nurfed down to level 1 type stats).

I think it's a proven fact somewhere that players (with very few exceptions) cannot understand or create a fair-and-balanced custom map/zone/whatever, regardless of the game. Not without copying existing work, anyway.

Are we counting Off Topics posts or no?

I'm counting the number I got when I clicked your name and 'find other posts by this user".

So, yes, we are. And, not even all your posts were returned. So I just made up a number that around 4-5 times the number that I got.

Edit: And, I just realized, I can just go to your profile to see your posts, so we'll just use that number as a more static reference.

            Re: Private Dungeons

pretty sure that number doesn't include off topics, but I'm too lazy to check.

I checked the Find More Posts thing though, lol at me making 500 posts in a little over a month.

I'm sure it does -- how else can you have something like this?

Total Posts: 4,205 (3.77 posts per day)

Either way, that's still many, many, many times more, to the point where it doesn't matter, the point is made.

                test

EDIT: yep. Made a post in off topics, post count didn't change. Made a post here and it did.

So post count definitely doesn't include off topic posts.

Considering the conversation that is being had?

Anyway, I like the idea but it will probably be something like, "choose difficulty of enemies, choose setting, choose level cap"

                        Re: Private Dungeons

I agree with Balfree that it probably won't be that costumizable, but I think it can be quite fun. In my opinion, thie game lacks a few little things that can be implented easily and would make the game more interesting in the long run. Who hasn't ever found themselves just standing around Jeuno or Whitegate doing absolutely nothing of boredom. but not logging out either? The new Open Mog House feature is sort of nice (but could have a little more features..) and so are the Chocobo Races, that was a nice initiative. Things to do for no particular reason other than kicks and fun. If you just want to mess around with a friend, you usually end up fighting some NM or some monsters, taking the ferry to fight pirates.. and such. I'm sure everyone knows what I mean. How about implenting a Vanadiel Casino? Or something similiar, it doesn't even have to cost gil and there don't have to be any (valuable) rewards either.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting about it now, i'm trying to say how this could be a good addition to the game. It doesn't need to have anything added to the game, like for example Assault does. Just a simple thing players can do themselves to mess around. I think it will be (or should be) a little bit more as setting difficulty and level cap, but I doubt it will be dungeons actually designed by players the way Feba sees it. But yea, even if so, since there are no big rewards other than a fun tine, it doesn't seem important to be involved in it anyway. Just like Chocobo Racing.
