  • Crystal War Revisited - Ongoing Results (11/13/2007)

They've posted current standings for the Crystal War Revisited event.
We expect that you've already jumped at the chance to take part in the Crystal War Revisited event, right, kupo?
We Moogles are losing sleep speculating about which nation has been able to secure the most crystal fragments, and stake their claim as most powerful among the Allied Forces of Altana! We couldn't help but carry out some preliminary calculations, and we'd like to take this opportunity to announce the current standings for the Crystal War Revisited event, kupo!

How do those results sit with you, kupo?
Congratulations to the leading nation! All you adventurers keep representing, kupo!
For those of you in second and third... Well, there's still plenty of time left, beastmen to kill, and crystal fragments to steal! It's on now, kupo!
Don't give up! Your nation is counting on you, kupo!
As a little added incentive, we thought you might like to know that adventurers exhibiting exemplary exploits can expect exciting extras, regardless of their nation's standing, kupo!

So keep on keeping on, kupo! Become a beacon for your nation, a supreme representative of its pride and spirit, and steal those crystals, kupo!
I don't think the part in bold has been mentioned before. Guess I'll be going out to Palborough again after all.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

That one crystal I got didn't seem to swing the standings much.

Normally, I am a total event whore. I would've been a lot busier with this one if it weren't for all the travel, and my overriding need for a Neckchopper.

Well I hate Bastok, and as I'm Bastokan right now, I have no real desire to help Bastok win anything. Not that there's any real chance of it.

EDIT: Link just came up, and holy shit ... Bastok is winning? I'm in a state of shock, kupo.

It was finally something simple enough for them to do so Bastokans are all over this event.

            It makes them feel special.

I lol'ed Mhurron. Well more of a chuckle, as "laughing" hasn't been something I've been doing a lot of lately. -.-

Makes me want to go out and get more crystal thingies, I've got nothing better to do anyway.

Your words anger and confuse me, though I don't know why. I will find one of those little chipmunk people from the town with trees to explain it to me.

I have to say I wasn't expecting the current results to go down as they are. The majority of everyone I know hails from San d'Oria, slightly less with loyalty to Bastok, with love for Windurst a distant third. And for the most part, San d'Oria seems to be the most popular nation to switch to, second being Bastok. I just had it in my head that this held true across all servers, unreasonable as that may be.

Truthfully though, who among us really has time time to go back and forth hauling crystals? In my circle of friends, we are the the closest we've even been to getting Al'Taieu access, I could well have it before the month is out. You take ambitions like those, compound them with events, levelling/meriting/capping out, and raising pets(Chocobo, Pankration), and you have a lot of very busy players with whom "yet another event" is little more than an afterthought.

Now that I think about it, I wonder how many people are participating hardcore. Like, dropped everything to help their nation/server win...

Windurst is a popular destination nation for end-game players. It has one more unique guild compared to the other two nations, and has the highest density of mage-focused players of all nations (unsurprisingly).

Not to mention that two of those guilds come with eyecandy

                            Boneworker's and Fisherman's Guild.

I get the feeling the reward from this so far is just one of the many new toys scholar will get to affect. I've got my HQ Specs so far, and seeing as I do have the time on my hands (and refuse to get involved with RoZ endgame again for a while longer), I'll make enough runs to get 50 shards and see if that extra reward comes my way.
