If they'd let us call macroes from inside macroes, I'd be perfectly happy with six lines.
It's very clear that SE wants to avoid the ability to do any sort of complex automation from within macros. The potential to drive a bot through macros without even needing 3rd-party tools is enough to keep them FAR away from this. That said, paranoia about this is one of few reasons I could see for SE actually choosing to concede on longer lines and more complex /equip syntax rather than simply increasing the number of lines...
I foresee doom for us supports coming of the new jobs... yet potentional to distort them in a twisted unbelievable way >:O
Yes, I say twist them in ways it wasn't meant to be played! And yell at SE for not giving us three jobs! Specifically, for not giving us Mystic Knight!

Talk like that is why i make such comments, and it half worries me with excepted responses.
Next, wings will have wars, pld begging to tank, rdms, brd and whm begging to cure after dancer becomes the queen of DD/tanks/healer from distorting
I'd say the number of lines per macro needs to be increased to at least 10. (Either that, or add a command to swap in a number of equipment pieces at once. I think increasing lines is the more plausible concession on SE's part.)
I'd be happy if it was just eight, I don't need to change every last slot of equipment, some of it needs to stay static based on subjob, but there's room enough even in the PS2 version to extend it by two or three lines.
BTW, Kuro... only one macro list for COR? I have four.
As far as macros are concerned, I think it could all be fixed if we had a way of activating a macro within a macro. I could have 3 macros activated in one macro and get all my gear swaps, targeting, and casting/WS/whatever done in one macro.
Really, with everything you can do in a macro, I don't know why I can't make it do another macro.

because then you can bot, with the games own macro system, and SE does not want that.

Well the problem is that the developers all use PC so when they hear "Add more macros lines" they just say "what for?" and go back to editing their windower macros in notepad.

Swing and a miss!
It's more then likely all content gets made for the PS2 first, then ported to the other systems, so the third party application windower that SE does not want you to use is in no way involved in the development process. Unless that was meant to be funny, in which it was still a big whiff...
Personally I prefer more buttons to more lines. If I want to swap out 8 different pieces of gear, I now have to press two buttons to do so, not a problem imo. Even if I have to do so constantly, it's not that big of a deal and might actually force me to pay attention more in a pt. But if I want to make a macro that does nothing but activate a single JA, then with more buttons it's less of a waste to create a macro for that singular line.
It gives those who use multiple jobs, with multiple macro lists per job, more flexibility to create their macros. Where as just adding more lines would still limit the amount of macros that could be made...but make it slightly easier to play a singular job.
