Question about game region

Ok I remember a long time ago, I bought the US copy of FFXI (this way way before it was released in the EU) and if i tried to play on a european client i can play and log in fine, just i can't access my personal information so on an EU client i could not log in to cancel ID etc etc.

Now I have lost my US CD's is it still the same story that i would not be able to log in for 100% functionality with EU Client?

If thats the case is there any way to make it work? Or am I left to import US CD's
I could just look up torrents but with crap all seeders and 4gb of data ild import it faster lol.

Problem is I thin the EU and US have a very slightly differnt way of doing things somehow, so that you won;t eb able to even import WoTG and play it as long as you have a eu install.

But I really think someone was just being dumb when they worked that out... what the hell would.could have been changed? (Apart from the shortcut on the desktop to the EU folder)

One of the POL files is very specific EU/NA/JP (spent too long watching updates). I can see why they did it, and it is just one of those things you have to live with!
