I never suggested a correlation. I only provided the data I had concerning the topic so that those who care could use it. Please read my post again, you will see that nowhere do I suggest a correlation and I even state that no such thing was intended by SE. The closest I come to suggesting a correlation is when I say "gay people will play it" which is true, also Buddhists will play it but no one was talking about that so I didn't post anything on it.

Y'know, I never did understand what anyone ever intended to accomplish with that particular line that I bolded. Reading 1 or 100 times won't change the fact that what you said was completely understood and compreneded by most people here, and that it was understood as thus:

"I have 3 gay friends. Therefore, by that reason alone, and by no amount of research into the interests of homosexual people at large, beyond the FFXI player base or any other hard, definitive proof, I declare that this job will be the job that homosexuals will play above all others, and will be the job that targets that group of individuals."

The jump to conclusions is made right after you decare that by the inclusion of the fact that you have three gay friends that state that they will play dancer. That right there makes a direct correlation, regardless of whether you intended it or not, and whether you wrote one or not.

The argument here is that you declared Dancer to be the preeminent "gay" job, while the truth of the matter is that a sexual preference does not determine what job (if any) a person plays (if they play at all); a heterosexual person can play Dancer just as often as a homosexual person could play Warrior or Black Mage (for example).


Again, I find "read my post again" to be endlessly amusing and funny, because it's just a silly and pointless statement. Not just from you, Rich, but from anyone.

I've made my thoughts on your posts clear. And Lilith's post above is pretty awesome in it's own right.

It's a truth, in a very narrow sense of the term. But it isn't really relevant to anything at all. Lots of people will play the job. Some will be gay. Some will be straight. Some black, some white. I imagine a fair number will be of Asian descent. The way you phrased your "true statement" was kind of stupid. Just own up to it and move on.

Well you said it yourself, you're jumping to conclusions before even completely reading what I said. You should really look to understand what the poster is trying to say instead of just jumping to conclusions based off of what previous posters said.

Just because we do not agree with you does not mean we do not understand you, sweetie. To quote the post in question:

You know 3 gay people that are going to play Dancer when Wings of the Goddess. You are correct in saying that THOSE gay people will play the job, but when you say

a job that gay people are going to play.

You say " This job will be popular with most homosexuals".

Correlation =/= causation.

Just because SOME gay people will play this does not mean that this job appeals specifically to gay folken. It means you know three gay people who are also interested in the Dancer job.

We're not being politically correct, we're using logic. Big difference there. If SE made a job just to appeal to group X, we'd have no problem calling them out on it. The problem is, they aren't.

wow some of you making it sound like SE made this job just for FFXI, and target audiences....

all FFXI jobs haven been in other FF games (but PUP) and has been around since the SNES (and NES) days (greatest days of RPG/gaming ever)

in FFV dancer was there for both genders.... in FFIII BRD was there for both genders (in FFIII remake one of the brothers was changed to a girl) and in FFT Male had BRD and female had dancer. Its not some audience targeting job class -.- its an old class being reborn in a new world
